Help Don Perkins, freelance writer and barn researcher, travel across Maine for a book on Maine's barns and their associated people.
(Click the photo above for a video explaining this project.)
Help Don Perkins travel the state of Maine to complete research for a state-wide book on the barns of Maine. Maine has three basic generations of barn and the book will chronicle their evolution, as well as the colorful people who've worked them.

Barns are becoming rarities worthy of preservation. The associated people have honest anecdotes, too, giving the buildings context and are just as important to record. Of course not all buildings can be saved for future generations-- but it's hoped that through this project many of the details can be.
The book is scheduled for a fall 2012 release; a publishing contract has been signed. Maine is a big state and Don needs help to offset rising fuel prices in order to survey various corners. For more on the project and its history, visit www.ourbarns.com.
