Camp Carathir, 2011

Camp Carathir is a destination camp for all ages. We hope to create a cooperative and self-sustaining community reminiscent of a fantasy medieval village. Life at camp will be similar to a Renaissance Faire or live action role-playing (LARP) event. While open to families it will cater to a more mature crowd.
Guests take active roles in camp, becoming unique characters of their own while practicing professions, protecting the camp from brigands, and participating closely in daily camp life.
We will pride ourselves on an extremely high level of authenticity and provide days and nights packed with adventures and activities. Whether you're interested in combat, in professions, in exploration and missions, or just looking for a laid back simple lifestyle free of modern technology, this will be a destination retreat like none other!
Thanks for looking up Camp Carathir here on Kickstarter. We're really excited with the prospects of this great new service! My name's Geoffrey and I'm the evil genius behind Camp Carathir. I've got great support already, mostly friends and family, but what will really turn this concept into reality is you! I need help from the great backers on Kickstarter!
Camp for 2011 will have a reasonable registration cost that our guests will pay to attend. This fee will be enough to cover the insurance, our skilled artisans, lodging and facility rental, and the wonderful food for the week-long camp sessions.
The camp can sustain itself once it's in full-swing, but we first need some capital investment to get this whole thing started! So what we're trying to do here on Kickstarter is raise the initial capital to do three things:
1. Begin to acquire and stockpile gear, clothing, equipment, and material goods.
2. Pay the security deposits, insurance, and other costs required long before the first campers can register.
3. Advertise, market, and get our Camp onto people's radar for 2011.
