The Air Kraken is a kinetic sculpture that breathes fire. It hungers for propane and a way to Rights of Passage - Burning Man.
What's this about?
The Air Kraken is a project that I've worked hard at this year, and successfully completed and took to the Washington regional burn - Critical Massive. My aim is to take the project to BurningMan this year, and display the art publicly.
What's your money going towards?
The funding that I am seeking for the project is to fulfill three goals:
1. Funding transportation on a trailer down to the site
2. Increasing the capacity of the kraken to breathe fire
3. Buying fuel
The Kraken currently is capable of bringing a full propane tank from full pressure down to frozen in under 30 minutes. My intent is to increase its capacity through ganging four tanks on the vehicle, and bringing enough fuel to run the vehicle for a few hours for five nights on playa.
Your contribution will go towards the costs of propane tanks, for propane, and for a trailer. These costs break down to about $330 for transportation, four 30 lb propane tanks - $300, and 30 gallons of propane (~$100.) The remaining money covers the rewards costs, and building the manifold to gang the tanks.
When will rewards go out?
After Burning Man.
