Design purists unite! The “grapple” is a simple solution that compliments the iPad design.
Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out our Kickstarter project.
The project we would like to create is a non-slip grip design for the back of iPad, iPad2 and other leading tablets on the market. As avid iPad users, we saw an opportunity to create an interface between the user and the tablet to enhance the grip, comfort, and safety of the product.
We call the product “grapple" which will be an injection-molded pad, manufactured in high quality Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), material. The oval shape allows the user flexible positioning to hold the product in a vertical and horizontal format and is 6.25" X 8.25". The inverted dot pattern further enhances the grip and ability to navigate with incremental steps, thus adding control.
The back of grapple will have a 3M removable adhesive that will adhere to the product but not damage the surface. The TPE material is rubber-like in feel, soft, and eliminates a cold touch, especially from the aluminum housing of the iPad.
The grapple will help protect the bottom surface of the product and give a person confidence in their grip. It will also help reduce slipping when placed on ones knees.
The design and colors of the grapple will compliment the Apple products and other leading tablet brands and laptops.
