About this project
Hi, my name is Tim Showalter and I am Strand of Oaks. I write these songs because I need to, and after that, I can only hope to find a sympathetic ear. As I get older, I begin to understand how important music is to my life. It has offered me the chance to meet more wonderful people than I ever thought possible and also self-examine parts of my life that I may never have ventured to, if it wasn’t for the song. All of these elements have shaped the person who I am, undoubtedly for the better.
I've spent the good part of 2010 creating the album Pope Killdragon. At this moment in my life, this record is one of my proudest accomplishments. It was released as a digital exclusive through the eMusic Selects program. Since then, Killdragon has received some humbling, amazing praise and spread itself throughout the internet and beyond. Now, we want to make Pope Killdragon something you can hold, stare at, dust, and everything else that makes vinyls so wonderful!
Like its original recording and release, the Pope Killdragon vinyl will also be a collaborative endeavor, one that requires a helping hand from anyone with love and respect for music, the people who make it, and the artists who bring it to life. Those who choose to contribute to the creation of the Pope Killdragon vinyl will inevitably become one of the valued collaborators whose generosity has helped make this record possible.
Our funding goal is set at $1,500 dollars. Obviously, we will be forever grateful if that amount is reached. But if we exceed that goal, it will only help Strand of Oaks sustain and continue to grow!

PROJECT UPDATE 12/14/10
I started this project less than 9 hours ago and we have already well surpassed our initial goal! It is hard to explain how grateful I am to all you out there.
With that said, we still have 29 days to go and raise money. I have so many plans and dreams for Strand of Oaks! Days like this only make me want to work harder! If this keeps up, I might be able to fund my next record!
So please, continue to spread the word, let's do some shows, listen to some records, and make the most out of this life!
