I am raising a years worth of model fees for a Monday night drawing session that will be open to the public.
The preceding project video was previewed on my facebook page and one friend felt that I might come off as "too stiff" while the other thought it was "too silly". I decided not to change anything. The observation that "the video ends a little abruptly" is spot on however.
The idea is simple: Free drawing sessions on Monday nights.
(As a point of clarification, a "drawing session" means a group of people sitting or standing around a central stage where a model is posing for predetermined increments of time. From Wikipedia: figure drawing is the study of the human form in its various shapes and body postures - sitting, standing or even sleeping. It is a study or stylized depiction of the human form, with the line and form of the human figure as the primary objective, rather than the subject person).
I am trying to raise the model's fee for a year's worth of drawing sessions. These sessions will be held on Monday nights in Talent Oregon at the Atleier LaRose. I intend to then have these sessions open to the public.
I chose Monday nights because not only do I teach drawing and painting on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Southern Oregon University, but Monday nights are the only nights that the Oregon Shakespeare Festival is closed. Monday nights are convenient for both the tourists and the locals.
I chose 45 weeks out of the year (excluding 7 weeks for holidays and the unexpected) and multiplied that by $45 dollars ($15/hr for three hours) to come up with $2025.
Anyone can draw. Everyone should draw.

Fellowship = 16 hours on a 16 x 20 painting of any
photograph that you send me.
$800 Figure Study Franchise = 48 x 32 painting based on one of the drawing sessions from this year, for example:
