American Video Jukebox (website) is a fast-paced, high-octane, rock & roll variety show that provides a venue for new musical artists... and assorted other entertainers  (comics, actors, etc) serving as Guest VJ (guest host).

Your pledges to AVJ will be spent on all aspects of producing the highest quality show possible... providing our relatively unknown, yet amazingly talented musicians & comics with 'the fair shot' which although deserved---they've never received.

What would Don Kirshner do?

Well, we don't know what ol' Don Kirshner would do... but the fact is that the music industry was ill-prepared for the MASSIVE changes brought on by the internet (which is an entire 60 minutes Special in its own right).  As a result---there's a ridiculous number of insanely-talented artists without a stage.

Think about it---every year with great anticipation, society celebrates a new class of rookies...  be it to the NBA, the graduating class of any-given year, at any given school and so on.

And this used to hold true for the music industry as well... That's how we ended up with those lovable 'one-hit wonders' that helped to provide an entire generation's background music.  [cue "Ride Captain Ride"]

And that's where American Video Jukebox comes in.  

America needs us.

It used to be that regardless of how talented an artist might be--- their music would never EVER 'leave the garage' if someone didn't invest thousands of dollars either buying or renting even the most modest of recording studios. 

But today, high-quality multi-track recording can be achieved by even your most basic computers and lap-tops.

So now for the first time in the history of recorded music----the majority of artists can afford their own recording studio. That's actually pretty incredible if you think about it--- every painter gets a brush.

Now we have an abundance of 'recording artists' ---all dressed up and no place to go.  

Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that most of these guys are not that good---so it's our job at American Video Jukebox to be your musical hound-dog... hunting down the good stuff and bringing you the best of the Wild Wild Web and beyond.

So...We believe ol' Don Kirshner would assemble a group of professionals, utilize the most efficient media vehicle of the day...and put together a butt-kickin, high-octane rock & roll variety show---and we're pretty sure he'd call it "American Video Jukebox" too.

SUMMARY: American Video Jukebox (AVJ):

• is a short weekly webisode (averaged runtime <10 minutes)
• Each week a new Guest Host (VJ) introduces a new musical artist.
• Designed for the fast paced, short attention span society.  Viewer watches at viewer's convenience.
• Designed for multiple interactive media devices (Smart-TV, iPhones, tablets, and on and on)  
• At season's end (approx 18 episodes), American Video Jukebox will produce a LIVE 1-Hour 'fully-interactive' UStream.TV Special featuring "the best of" as selected by our viewers.

American Video Jukebox is the first installment of the Jukebox Series which also includes: American Comedy Jukebox & American Country Jukebox

Dear Kickstarter People,

Why 'approve' more projects that you are willing to feature?

Despite receiving multiple approvals from KickStarter-- and following Kickstarter's specific instructions to "RE-DO" parts of the presentation...  American Video Jukebox was NEVER featured ANYWHERE. 

Why even accept the project in the first place?  It would have saved us massive time and money had we been declined initially.

It is no exaggeration to say that this project was a 'massive' amount of time, effort and money for one person...yet AVJ remained 'buried' for the entire life of the project

I thought the 'approvals' meant we would at least be seen... I guess the joke is on me.
