About this project
In COLORING ECUADOR I plan to work with local volunteers in and around Cuenca, Ecuador, to paint two murals. One mural will be at a youth home in Cuenca and the second will be in a rural village. The murals I create are always community building events with themes determined by the local community. Volunteers range from 2 years old to way past 2. This will be my first mural on the mainland of South America, but other murals have been created in communities in Africa, Europe and North America (as well as the Galapagos Islands). My murals have found themselves in so many countries because I have taught at International Schools in Asia, Africa and Europe for most of the last twenty years. My connections keep taking me overseas to paint.
No longer teaching, I now work on my art full time for two educational websites (see links below). However, when I have an invitation, the time, and money, I'm quick to grab my brushes and head to the nearest airport.
