About this project
My name is Rita Ritischka. I started a solo music act called "Helen Keller's Ukulele" in 2008. Why? Well it's a long story. But, she was from Alabama and a member of the anarchist party. I, however am not her but a singer, songwriter and performer.
Last year I toured with a lovely band named "Vermillion Lies" and it was wonderful! Kim Vermillion invited me to perform in Berlin with her. This means I could travel with my music and try to get a good following for my uke tunes and return regularly. This trip would also allow me to expand in the future to other places in Eastern Europe. There is only one problem! I don't have the funds to go. So here are my goals for making my deadline as well as what I can do for you if you sponsor me. The perks for sponsoring will get better as the days go on and I add to the project page.
So My Goals:
$1,000 for travel expenses to Berlin for three weeks
$1,000 for cd pressing 1,000 copies of my album
$2,000 Total
Once I am there I will keep you posted daily on:
the food
the sites
the transportation
the venues I play
the people
the language
and any song writing I do over there.
I really think it is an opportunity to share American music with our neighbors and hear what they are playing too and bring it back with me as well as documenting something wonderful in my life. When I return I'd love to make a booklet to incorporate into my next cd. I also plan to list all sponsors in the thank you section, because without you I couldn't go this soon or ever probably!

But, it will come in a package packed with care and a letter and a photograph of something awesome as well as enough of my favorite little Tchotchkes for you to treasure for a longtime. I will also dedicate a song to you on my Myspace Page! I will also do my gosh darnedest to include your town in my spring tour! Even if I only end up touring three towns! Which is a likelihood. Disclaimer (I may have to withdraw this if there aren't enough towns, gas is ridiculous).

Being a sponsor for 25% of my project is MONUMENTAL! There should be a statue of you in my home! Honestly. I will cry on camera for this one. Not really. What I will do is send you a cd, signed, with thanks in a package that includes little things I collect and a six foot scarf I made and a lovely weepy gratuitous letter replete with tear stains and smudged words, a postcard from Berlin and I'll even play in your town when I tour the u.s. in Spring time! Finally I will write a song for you based on three words you choose to give me and post it on My Myspace page. Unicorn is a verboten word BTW! Did I mention that I love you for this? Well I do!
