Hello wonderful people!

I want to raise 400$ to buy necessary supplies for my studio to create a new body of work - She Keeps Wandering, works of collage on drafting film. The work will span themes of femininity , the destruction and rebuilding of it. It's all about my somewhat convoluted relationship with mediated images of women and cultural ideals of women and how they look . On one hand, I hate it. I hate the way images pervade our social conscience and lead us to believe that we are supposed to look like this...whatever this is. On the other hand, I like shiny and pretty things and there is nothing that catches my eye more than some well lit, photoshopped to hell, shiny stuff . That being said, I like destroying it all and rebuilding it into some of the pieces you have seen above. It's a little modern revenge, a little appreciation, and all together Frankenstinian. I love it.

My idea for this project:

1. Raise the funds to create new works.
2. Create those awesome new works and keep you updated on what's going on in my studio
3. Get the works out there to new art spaces and spaces that I have worked with.
4. Reward you for your amazing generosity with the assorted pledge benefits !

The New York hustle is hard sometimes. Especially financially.

Your funds will go towards a variety everything, from buying the great things I work with. like drafting film, feathers, paints, to sending my works out, to self promoting and finally creating that professional austere website I've been promising to build for many moons. The goal is $400, but it doesn't have to stop there if we reach that mark. The sky is the limit!

This project is also about creating smaller pieces for those who support art. That way it doesn't become so gallery / white cube space centric. I want an audience that loves art, but can't always afford the gallery pieces, so this is where the creation of the postcards and the artist drawings come in as your handsome rewards.

Also, if you are a kind enough donator, you actually get one of the larger pieces I've created as a keeper. No joke. Plus, lets be honest, without your support this project could go nowhere, and I want to be able to show everyone that the support is appreciated and to have a piece of the same work that gets me so excited.
