Hi, my name is Anurak Suchat, and I am a Product designer base in Bangkok, Thailand. For the last 15 years I have been designing many products for my brand and my clients as well. I designed a wine rack in 2004 which has been sold in the market for a while. (By the way, this is before the Facebook marketing era.) Only a few people were familiar with my product such as buyers.  But when they sale, they not even mention who is the designer.

In 2006-2009 the Aluminum raw material was sky high so I could not afford the cost, so I was forced to stop the production. In 2011, I began the production of wine racks again, however when I contacted the factory, I found out the mould was damaged and could not produce any more wine racks. I decided to make the new production mould, the first samples test was done in October 2011. Unfortunately, Thailand experienced a massive flood and the factory was sunk under water for 3 months. All of the production was destroyed and I had to initiate my production from scratch, again.

I would like to offer it again through the Kickstarter and social media channels. By cutting the middleman and offering it at a fair price. I believe that "Fun & Creativity" is the main idea for this product. I hope we can bring this product to the homes of all people who enjoy being creative. 

DESIGN INSPIRATION

As a designer, I always loved toys and things that are relaxing as well as inspire me. In 2004, I was playing with tiny toys that connect together as modular design. It challenged me; I discovered that I could transform this into anything I need. At that time, I found the good moment and found another person in me, “A Child”. I would like to share this moment through my design and let people feel the same way. So I started to design the modular with more functional object, The “CONNEX” Wine rack system.

So the "CONNEX"wine rack system is an extendable system that encourages users to create their own pattern. The “CONNEX” can be changed and expanded the more models you have. This design gives people the opportunity to imagine and create their Masterpiece at home. Aluminum is light and strong and can hold hundreds of the bottles. It can be used in the kitchen, party tables, restaurants, and perfect for wine and spirits store.

Slide the piece together there are many infinite ways to create your own “CONNEX” wine rack system.

SPECIFICATIONS

Materials are made from fine grade 6063 T5 Aluminum, Japanese standard, and 100% recyclable. Aluminum is the future material that has replaced iron in many industries such as car industry and building industry. It is a 100% recyclable material.  The product made from aluminum; as a result it creates a lightweight, accurate size, affordable cost, and a strong material enough to hold the weight from wine bottles. It comes in 6 pieces of Aluminum X shape in recycled paper box size 9.2 x 9.2 x 5.2 inches. 

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY

All part could 100% recycle but I hope you can keep it to 100 years.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE

We’ll ship in Summer 2013. Here's our schedule for “CONNEX” Wine rack system delivery:

•February: Campaign in “Kickstarter” begins.

•March: Finalize manufacturing model design.

•April-May: Initiation of new model and first stage production.

•Mid May: Commence shipment to US

•July: Products arrive to all backers by mail.
