Update #11: August Update

Posted on August 24, 2010

Beloved Flower Tower Backers,

Sorry that it's been a few weeks since I sent an update. Wooly Fair ends and for those involved August is a chance to catch our breath and try and piece together just what the hell happened. In truth the event was raucous/wonderful and made more so for the presence of the Flower Tower and all the great energy it generated. If you didn't make it to Wooly Fair this year, please consider dropping in next year. If you did make, then I hope you know what I'm talking about.

So the Tower is gone and many of the gardens have been distributed to excellent local organizations -- Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless, The Ronald McDonald House, Crossroads (a homeless shelter), the Jewish Community Center, and many more. But we still have gardens left and we really want them to find homes. So if you or anyone you know would like to have one and promise to hang it in a location where it can be enjoyed by others, well, I hope you'll take one. We don't ship. We do deliver in the RI area. We do prefer pick up.

Also, you're rewards! We will be shipping those in September so I do thank you for your patience. The rewards are on their way.

The Flower Tower was a huge success made possible by all those on the receiving end of this email. As always, thanks so much for being a part of this project. It means the world to us.

Update #10: The Flower Tower Rises!

Posted on July 27, 2010

Dear Beloved Backers,

It's here! Come to Wooly Fair (this Saturday, 7/31), visit the Steel Yard, and see the results of your efforts! We built it this past weekend with the help of volunteer builders and painters, not to mention the 6 growers who have been tending the plants these past few months. Some of the gardens have been already planted. Some will be planted during Wooly Fair. After the fact, we have multiple YMCAs, hospitals, homeless shelters, where the gardens will go.

Thank you, as always, for your support. Hope you like the pics.

Shoot, I forgot, but here it is. We have a Facebook presence and it's a great way to check
in on the progress with the Flower Tower. There are galleries of the growers there as well as all sorts of other stuff on the event:

Update #8: Your Early July Check In -- Tickets, Rewards, and other thoughts

Posted on July 7, 2010

Beloved Flower Tower Backers,

Before we head into the actual production of erecting the Flower Tower, I wanted to drop you a note to say that if you're planning on coming to Wooly Fair and you've backed at a ticket reward level, we will have your tickets right there at there at the gate for you. Just walk right up, stick a finger in the chest of the person at the ticket window, give them a steely look, and exclaim "I did this" while pointing with your other hand in the direction of the Flower Tower. Or something slightly less aggressive. You'll be on our list.

Other rewards we will be shipping in August, once we have mopped our brows, taken a long cool drink, and caught what remains of our breath.

We do hope to see you. Pictures to come once the business begins.

Yours,

Sam
