About this project
Over the past year, we've written a new collection of songs.
These songs are largely about memory--stories about the past, often set in the modern-day wilderness of the west coast.
We made our first album in 2009 on a four track in Sarah's living room. It was self released on cassette tape.
We would like to record our next album live, with drums, and sadly we have outgrown our old four track set up.
We have an engineer and studio time booked at Tiny Telephone Studio in San Francisco, in January. All we need now is your help.

Magic! Magic Roses make dreamy, harmony-rich, meditative folk music in San Francisco, CA. In 2008, Kate Sweeney and Sarah Simon got together to play some Jimmie Rodgers covers and we quickly began collaborating on original songs with influences ranging from The Carter Family to Leonard Cohen. Our first album, "The Living Room", was recorded on a four-track in Sarah's living room and self-released on cassette tape in 2010. Sam Berman joined on drums in the spring of 2011 and we spent early August on a mini-tour with MGMT.
