This show is about giving these woman a forum to exhibit their creativity and to connect. Even a donation of $1.00 would go a long way in backing this project and giving us a chance to reach our goal. From where we stand, even a $1.00 is greatly appreciated..!

I have put into motion an Art Show called
Photographe Skimtastique. This project is driven by the eclectic art and determined action
of women. The show itself has gathered some of the best works of art to reflect the
women in the sport of skimboarding. These shows are to be featured in art
galleries, or other unique venues that show an appreciation for the arts. The woman of this sport have really taken a chance in drawing more interest to their sport. This is a grass roots movement, there is no backing for this show except for what I can put into it.

The shows themselves are robust, featuring the fine works of two artists, Lanakila Kelliher who did all of the body art on the athletes and is an accomplished artist in her own right, and the stunning oil paintings of Sheila Jacobs. It also features two works from photographers, Shauna Marincik who has documented the women of skimboarding over the past two years at various stages, and Monique Feil who has brought her sublime artistry in capturing these athletes in their body art form.
These shows include live music or DJ’s (depending on the night of the event), an airbrush artist (Mariposa Curiosa), and all the support mechanisms from refreshments to fliers. We have also gone the distance in creating a photography workshop to help photographers hone their craft by participating in sessions at the venue. These workshops would feature set design, lighting, and an athlete in costume and body paint to be photographed by the participants.
We have started this exciting art series in motion, but to ensure it’s successful completion along the beautiful coastline of California through the month of October 2011, we need your help. Our window is a narrow one, but by gathering the funding now, I can ensure the artists a monthly schedule for their works to be shown and seen.
Photographe Skimtastique has gone out to bring
together creative women on multiple levels, and allow them to flourish under
one roof, through the merging of music, photography, oil painting, airbrush
art, and athleticism. This is a passion project. Your contribution to this continuing vision is not only needed, it is also greatly appreciated.

As a unique and special way for you, yourself, to be a part of this very special and powerful art project, we invite you to be a photographer at our show and shoot the costumed and body painted female athlete yourself! The more shows we can support from sponsors like you, the higher the chances we can host a show in a city near you!
Each piece of artwork is unique in its own many ways. We would be honored to present you with a lovely and beautiful photograph from the Mermaid Series printed on bamboo and shot by Shauna Marincik.
As our highest reward, we would like to present you a limited edition 40x60 Giclee of one of the body painted athletes, airbrushed by Lanakila Kelliher and photographed by Monique Feil.
These artists and athletes have combined their talented efforts so you can share and embrace their love for the ocean, fresh water, nature, and the unending beauty of the human female body. Each athlete and artist would like you to feel proud to hang one of their images on your wall. That is why each piece will be limited in edition and autographed by the athlete. At the same time, your generous donation will be helping these girls continue to pursue their passions, and their dreams, and help them to continue to do what they feel they were born to do.

Technically no, the first show isn't until June 3rd...and like every good art show we are scrambling to make things happen right up until the day of the event. That's why we need your help! We have a very aggressive schedule in June. All of that being said, the show is about getting the word out on the work these athletes and artists have done. It has been a year in the making, and it would be nice to know we can guarantee them the shows will continue through the month of October. This has always been the real goal and intent of the project.

Photographe Skimtastique is designed to give Artists on multiple platforms a chance to show their works of art, the only theme we are asking is that they be tied into the sport of Skimboarding, some how, someway. This is a great outreach program for getting the artists and athletes noticed in the mainstream. Your contribution will go far in supporting their art, and their vision.

Never heard of such a combo, probably a good chance you never heard of sport of skimboarding period. Well, Skimboarding is an awesome sport, the athletes that take the activity seriously are in great shape, and the woman are no exception. These female athletes have really stepped outside of themselves to bring this project together and to get the word out about their sport. To do this, they have embraced the creative visions of some very talented artists, and in return these artists have produced some very stunning images of their uncommon world.

No one is going to say we aren't going to have fun at these events, but the hard work for these shows is far from over. This is like any other Production, it takes a lot of planning, set-up time, and of course the dreaded wrap. (Pictures don't hang themselves, I've tried...) There are advertising costs, props, and the other support systems it takes to put on a show. We have taken a grass roots approach toward what we are trying to achieve, reaching out to the public, a lot of meet and greets, and as the people putting the show on, that is exactly what we need to be doing. The nice thing is that the art will speak for itself, we just need to be able to reserve the venues.
