About this project

We are Chance Encounters Productions an award winning film making team. We need exposure into the industry to get into as many film festivals as possible and maybe even some local theaters. Armed with a new cut of our acclaimed debut horror feature THE VEIL US CUT and our newest short horror film APT. entering them simultaniously is our way of being ambitous. As proof of talent in no/low budget film making. Now we just need your help to get them seen.

Here's a little about ourselves and our films of past;

I am a California-based British Filmmaker, actor and editor; and one-half of Chance Encounters Productions. My brother Richard and I co-wrote and directed the acclaimed feature film The Veil, the nominated short film Chainmail, and the 2008 Action On Film Festival award-winning short The Day I Tried to Live. In 2009, our latest venture: The Waiting Room, was nominated for Best Horror Screenplay at the same festival. Most recently I have appeared as guest editor on Propeller4film a British short film website showing the best of UK emerging talent.

‘The Veil’ our first feature film was a four-year project, which was acclaimed by critics. It is now free of the original distributor (who, on a sour note never paid us) and searching for another. We would first like to show our film 'The Veil' at film festivals and possibly at local theaters.

We have recently made a brand new cut of the film and with some great reviews i.e.; UK's Nigel Buckland, Kerrang! Magazine, Gorezone Magazine and more from the original masters (Pre-DVD release) Reviews here; http://chance-encounters.org/... for your curiosity.

Funding has always been a problem for my brother and I, we sometimes have not been able to afford to enter film festivals; as almost all cost for money is in submission fees. Faced with the challenge of a low-budget and the need to get our film out there. If this funding drive is successful with your help we would be able to afford to present our films in festivals in the USA and around the world. Your contribution is greatly appreciated and in rewards we want to give something in return for kindness in helping us out.

In 2010, Chance Encounters will release the better than ever horror epic Richard Chance's The Veil US CUT - how it should of rightfully been seen; at film festivals worldwide and eventually local theaters! And just because we can't sit down - two more short films will be released this year! Starting with a short film by John Chance titled apt. which will be released simultaneously with The Veil US CUT at festivals ... and later in the year The Timeslip a Chance Bros film.
