Project
to professionally restore and HD digitally preserve the 42 year old experimental psychedelic 16mm color film of
Jimi Hendrix shot on island of Maui in 1970 by a DMT affected Duff Hendrickson. We
will take the original camera film and have a top Seattle film lab carefully
re-splice and clean the film, and then scan each 16mm film frame in sharper picture in higher resolution than by shown by video in the past.
The
restored movie in digital HD approx resolution ( 1440 x 1080p) will be donated
for archival use to private archive collections, and public organizations such as the National Archives, Seattle
Art Museum, and Experience Hendrix Museum for preservation. Also
copies will be offered for donation to the archival libraries of
University of Washington & University of Hawaii, and the Internet Archive organization.Perhaps you will also have a copy.
If you support the restoration and preservation of the movie you will also get a digital copy of the 15 minute film for your personal library.
It is my hope that my original edit of the film will preserved by some, but I understand the contemporary mash-up culture with their creative reworking of art.
I
filmed at the Rainbow Bridge concert, but my film was not part of that
movie production. Mine was experimental-underground-psychedelic,which
was why I was allowed to film, without live audio recording. It was
originally edited to the pace of 3 songs.

Parts of the Strange Day on Maui restoration will be used in my next project which is autobiographical covering my art projects over 4 decades. Any surplus funds raise at this time will go towards the next psychedelic art movie project I will produce.

16MM color movie film_ 15 minutes long. When restoration of the movie is completed you'll get the only existing 16mm film release print. This16mm Ektrachrome print was made in 1971 in Hollywood-Burbank. You'll also get editable Quicktime data files on data-DVD-r discs + a BluRay disc.
