Who are we and why do we need your support?

3 ½ Samurai Studio is an independent game development studio located near Los Angeles, CA.  Our team consists of gamers, students, and working professionals. We’ve played games all our lives and we want to bring great and memorable games to the next generation of gamers!

We are doing this because we believe that gaming has impacted our lives in more ways than we ever imagined.  Many of the skills and creative thinking we possess are the indirect result of our gaming background.  Our unifying goal is to give back those same experiences to all of you.  

Finally, our belief is that everyone should do what they are passionate about otherwise it is not worth doing.  We are passionate about providing quality gaming experiences to others and this funding will help us achieve that!  

How will the funds be used?

We managed to build a great alpha version (like a rough draft) of Cake Nana with our own funds and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from a playable game debut at Anime Expo 2012!  However, we need your help to turn Cake Nana from an already great game to an out-of-this-world game so we can happily release this fall 2012!  We have imagined an amazing world in Cake Nana and we want to make sure we can put all of it in because we believe mobile games can be so much more than just story-less time wasters!

• More comprehensive Android device support (We'll target popular devices first such as the Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab)

What kind of game is Cake Nana? 

Cake Nana is a unique blend of a defense game with puzzle elements designed to challenge both the player’s reaction abilities and problem solving skills. We want to provide a fun and challenging mobile game where players are immersed in a fantastic story in the clouds that can be enjoyed for a few minutes or for a few hours at a time. 

Cake Nana will be offered on both iOS and Android mobile platforms!

The player will play as Yommy, a curious Gingerbread man, as he unexpectedly stumbles upon the cloud world of Cake Nana. The world of Cake Nana is vast with endless kingdoms of candy and sweets. The player is entrusted with protecting Cake Nana’s citizens from the marching ant armies of General Zodd bent on consuming all of Cake Nana! 

While in game, you can equip different candy weapons including licorice arrows, bouncing gumballs, and bubblegum bombs. Utilize special weapons like cotton candy walls and honey puddles to slow down the invading ants. As you progress, upgrade your weapons and unlock new and exciting weapons and specials!
