About this project
So there're these imaginary goons. I don't know their individual names. Chances are pretty good that each once calls himself Ichabod Hate. The bass player. The guitarists. The mechanized demon on the drums. The dull-eyed wastrel hidden behind the tiers of keyboards. All of them are Ichabod Hate. I guess they live in some dungeon somewhere. Cables and amplifiers and a couple filthy mattresses. When they aren't thrashing, they're reading books about pre-colonial slavery and World War I and horrific forms of pornography. Every couple years, they assault me in a very compromising way and force me to record a new record for them. This is one of those years.
RAT PARK is a 16-track stab in the neck. I don't know why these guys would want to do that to you. I'm pretty sure they don't care how you feel.
You know that story where the one kingdom goes to war and spends decades vanquishing its enemies, and when it's finally over and the battle-hardened troops return home victorious, not knowing what else to do, they slaughter the very people they've been defending? That's what this record is like.
Because CDs are an obsolete vehicle, I'm only making as many as people are interested in buying. If you don't order one now, chances are, you will never get the opportunity again. But hey, digital downloads are forever! There'll be some deals, I think. And a free sampler. Oh, and a video. And also this newer video.

In addition to his work with Ichabod Hate, Douglas W. Milliken is the primary instrument in both Old Fat God and Blind Pelican, and is an integral part in WIFE and the Yòü-Tü. Additionally, his stories, poems, and essays have appeared in McSweeney's, Salt, and the Adirondack Review. His first novel, WHITE HORSES, was released by NaDA Publishing earlier this year.
