About this project
Hello Prospective Donor,
On the weekends of July 10/11 and 17/18, I will shoot my MFA thesis film titled "Frienemies." It will be a 15 minute narrative short film. It is a dark tale of revenge set in high school. People who have read the script, written by the talented Enrica Jang (who also has a Kickstarter project called Azteca), unanimously agreed that it was not only entertaining but socially relevant as well. I hope to do her story justice when translating it to the screen!
The story is about Isabel and Tanya. The two were BFFs growing up next door from each other. Their friendship is strained when they get to high school and Tanya becomes part of the popular clique while Isabel becomes the awkward girl. After Tanya suckers Isabel into an uncomfortable situation involving boys and booze, Isabel gets revenge by disseminating scandalous sext photos of her from that night to everyone in school. Tanya ends up losing her status as the alpha female and seeking solace with her former friend and current frienemy, Isabel.
I have a great crew consisting of fellow film students that are led by Matt Genebach (an amazing Director of Photography who also studied abroad with me in Prague). I have a fabulous, diverse cast of both young and seasoned actors. In addition, I will be shooting at an elite private prep school just outside of Washington, D.C. The stage is set for a great two weekends of filming!
Your donations will go toward renting equipment and a vehicle for the shoot, providing food for the cast and crew, possibly procuring an original musical score, and paying for film festival expenses.

I'm a graduate film student at American University and an intern at the Discovery Channel. I studied fine arts as an undergrad at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Before my MFA program, I did a year of service in AmeriCorps and another in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.
