Portes Update #11

...and speaking of the reception on Tuesday....the reception is on Tuesday! If you are nearby, we hope you can join us at Space Gallery Annex from 4-7pm. In addition to the artists in the show, we expect representatives from the City of Portland, Olympia Snowe's office, the Hellenic Society of Maine, and visitors from one of Portland's other Sister Cities -- Shinagawa, Japan.
Here is an image of John Knight's "Phlox Drawing". John has received much recognition for his colorful compositions featuring wildflowers and weeds plants in quiet, undeveloped spaces. In a new series he is drawing similar images on translucent mylar, giving the flowers a ghostly presence.
