Writing is a a solitary sport. Its an obsession - a call from within:
I write because of need I can’t explain- its a need that makes no sense to the practical mind-there this voice that speaks to me from far inside-and I have to follow it—it tells me where to go- it tells me I can create the perfect piece of music or prose-tell a story in just the right way.
Its a voice that won’t let me sleep at night until I address it.
The main purpose of my life is the quest to bring to life this voice into the perfect piece of work and writing. And up until now it has eluded me- but I keep setting out on the journey as that quest is what drives me always.
I can’t really live with myself if I don’t. It takes me to places and a conclusion that are explainable only by the listener and their own experience. I see the work in the reflection of your perception, so I need you. You are indispensable to the work. Without you the work really doesn’t even exist.
I've put out ten full length albums; I've toured the world and received critical acclaim all across the planet. I’ve had 5 major label record deals and a song in the Cameron Crowe feature film "Elizabethtown".
What I do is write musical novellas with a literary bent In the great American outlaw writer tradition.
My current project is a full length album that will be accompanied by a book of prose and short storys. The vision is important, it can’t be compromised, so that’s why im turning to you the fans.
The more music business people you involve the more your vision gets watered down - believe me I know!
I've spent the last decade looking for love in all the wrong places -putting out records on major labels. That’s why I'm here to ask for your help so I can do it right.
I want to involve the “people” in the production…. rather than the corporation. Its a lengthy piece we’ve started - now we have to finish.
The theme of the project is the quest for the unattainable, the obsession behind it, and the things that naturally follow—Its… MY MOBY DICK really!
I want to finish this record and the book and promote it properly without the idling and interference of music industry "professionals".
Its gonna take time and love and money and contemplation, as it’s a work of the heart.
We’ll finish the record in a real studio ( not my dining room, kitchen or a gas station), finish the book, hire proper people to promote it and spread the word and bring it to your town to perform and read for you.

The Big One That Won't Get Away
I am busy recording "Moby Dick" and will be finished in January. As with any industry, music has it's risks and I have done everything possible to mitigate those risks. I have invested in a personal recording studio which provides an advantage for creating demos of all the tracks and have a host of recording industry professionals that I have developed close working relationships with which arel providing world class services at a significantly lower rate than most artists have access to. This is why I am only looking for $6,000 in funding. I am also working with a team of professionals that are guiding my career in terms of management and public relations, which will help avoid some of the pitfalls that many musicians fall into. Other than life's unforseen challenges, (personal iillness, natural disaster, etc.), I believe I have been proactive in mitigating known risks and therefore this project will meet the delvery date I have targeted. Even though we'll figure out a way to get it made regardless, our greatest risk is not getting the funding for the project.
