Update #8: STIFF 2012 is approaching fast
Thanks again for your support. Our 2012 schedule has been released and we are planning a Red Carpet Party to celebrate.
If your reward included an All Access Badge it can be picked up at the party and you admission to the party is included with your badge.
If you can't make it to the party you can pick up your badge anytime during the festival at our headquarters the Grand Illusion Cinema.
T-Shirts will also be available for pick up at the Red Carpet Party or any time during the festival at the Grand Illusion.
If your reward included tickets to films I will be emailing you the codes in a couple of days that you can use on the ticketing site to reserve your tickets.

Update #7: STIFF 2112 T-Shirts
We are placing out T-Shirt order and I wanted to make sure we order enough to cover all of our supporters who donated and chose incentives that included t-shirts. Update #6: Fundraiser Successful
I want to thank everyone for making our Kickstarter Campaign successful. We had 83 backers and in addition to making our fundraising goal we have a lot of people excited to be a part of this years festival. In the coming weeks we will be talking with poster artists, venues and sponsors to finalize details.

Update #5: Why we at STIFF like to uncover new talent
It is easy to look at the top 20 film festivals and cherry pick the films that did well at those festivals and then program those films for your film festival. You can even claim your festival is important because you are showing so many important films. Films that are award winners, are made by established directors, feature well known actors, have high production value etc.
At STIFF we take a different approach. We like to discover new talent. We like Filmmakers that no one has heard of, Actors still looking for their big break, films that are often self financed and use creativity instead of cash to create the look and feel of the production.
Of course this requires us to sift through piles of DVDs to find the gems that make it into the festival. Most of our Programming Team are Filmmakers themselves and understand it takes just as much effort to make a bad film as it takes to make a great one.
Marketing and finding Sponsors for a Film Festival with mostly unknown filmmakers can present a challenge. We feel we have built an audience that trust our judgment and return each year for more. Featuring True Independent Film has its rewards. Seeing our Alumni Filmmakers continue to make films and gain recognition continue to inspire us both as Filmmakers and Film Festival Organizers.
We know the reason so many filmmakers want to be a part of STIFF is the opportunities to be exposed to distribution opportunities and media coverage of their films-
Last year we featured a short film called ‘Connect To’. ‘Connect To’ was just recognized by First Glance Films as one of the 10 Best Short Films of 2011.
The KCTS Television Program Independent Lens has also featured several film that were shown this year at STIFF including ‘Summer Snapshot’, ‘Rebuilding Hope’, & ‘Smoke, Sand & Rubber’.
IndieFlix has offered distribution to so many of the films featured at our festival that have dedicated a section of their website to us

Update #4: STIFF Student Film Block
I read an article today about two young filmmakers that have just finished their short film and are planning on submitting to STIFF (Complete article here). Supporting up and coming filmmakers have always been a priority for us so when Daniel Hoyas approached me last year with his vision of creating a Student Filmmaker Showcase as a part of our festival I gave him the green light. For a young filmmaker it can be tough to get your work in front of an audience where you can receive feedback and encouragement. The 2011 Student Showcase was a success with a sold out showing and a per-screening Pizza party for the filmmakers and guests. Young filmmakers like the guys in the article have submitted quite a few films this year and we are planning on expanding the program and offering 2 screenings this year. You can support young up and coming filmmakers by donating to our Kickstarter and even better we are giving you the opportunity to be our Student Filmmaker Sponsor if you are the first to select it and donate at least $250.00.
