Update #15: It's on!
Hello. It’s full immersion filmmaking at the moment and we wanted to send an update out to all of you. Firstly to say that this is all made possible by your support. We’re inspired by this support every day over here at headquarters.
Paul arrived in Brooklyn bearing many hard drives and we transformed Jesse’s Brooklyn apt into an edit suite (and crash pad). Almost every waking moment has been about getting about 150 hours of footage sorted, organized, and ready for the initial edit. Re-experiencing the footage has been really fun – hearing HVGO concerts, and watching as Peter tries to find the perfect spot to play in Spain.
We’ve even started dreaming about the footage. A wise filmmaking professor once said films are the closest things we have to our dreams. It’s not till the lights go up, or we wake up that we start to analyze what we’ve seen or experienced. So maybe dreaming is a good way to figure out storylines.
Jesse’s colleague Jay Sterrenberg from New Day Films came over and gave us a crash course in post-production organization and work flow – which was incredibly helpful for setting us on due course.
We decided we needed this week to keep going, and Malcolm is set to arrive from San Francisco on a red eye Friday night. We’re planning to work with him then take some time to discuss, figure out if anything more needs to be filmed, and then reconvene and edit some more. Getting very excited to start working with him. Thank YOU again for helping us bring this awesome editor on board.

Filmmaker Magazine also named her "one of 25 filmmakers to watch."
