Now that we are back from Park City and Sundance 2012 has wrapped, we're looking back on all the amazing success from the multitalented FIVE NIGHTS IN MAINE team whose projects were screened, loved, awarded and picked up for distribution.
Cinematographer Bradford Young's work can be seen in Ava Duvernay's beautiful film, MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, for which she won the distinguished Best Director award. Participant Media will partner with AFFRM to release the film. Check out the trailer: http://bcove.me/xg7qudu2
Chad Keith's designed Andrew F. Renzi's short, THE FORT from the producers of MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, which Chad also designed.
The Fort, 2011
Composer Gingger Shankar debuted a multimedia collaborative performance film entitled, HIMALAYA SONG. The film is a video-cued musical performance that serves as a compliment to a visual journey into the heart of the majestic mountain range. Along with musician David Liang and filmmaker Mridu Chandra, the team infused modern electro sounds with ancient instruments to help tell this tale of a region burdened by melting glaciers and other major ecological changes. The film was named one of the 10 Best Music Films at Sundance by Rolling Stone. The soundtrack is available on iTunes & Amazon.
Last but not least, powerhouse Producer Nekisa Cooper was awarded the very first Creative Producer grant from the wonderful women of Chicken and Egg! It is awards like these that allow Nekisa to continue to foster independent films like FIVE NIGHTS. Thank you, Chicken and Egg!!
For a few days in Utah, the key creative team gathered to discuss and plan the film and share in each other's creativity and success. We are so very proud of our dedicated team filmmakers.
