We were overwhelmed by the buzz we stirred and the feedback received at the 2012 ISPO Show. "This invention will revolutionize the market" ISPO Feb 2012. Several big companies offered to purchase our patent for the EFlex Snowboard. We decided to kindly turn down the offers and stay true to our passion and mission. With the help of all you snowboard enthusiast Kickstarters we will be able to change the way you ride.
Why an EFlex Snowboard?
- Board is 'rocker', Bridge is convex. Bridge has different flex than the rest of the board (softer) When making turns, the weight of the boarder bends bridge first, which then transfers the torsion into the effective edges of the board (at the level of the bindings).
- Elevated Position of the bindings (on the bridge) = better leverage for weight transfer & easier to ride
- Lighter than other snowboards. Because of the use of ultra strong light weight high quality carbon fibre, which replaces the wood core standard snowboards use.
- The boards is stiffer against torsion because of the bridge construction
- This makes the board a 'power rocker'! Much more precise!
- Interchangeable bridges makes EFlex the first true real All Mountain Board. You can easily mount on different bridges for different snow types & terrains. (hard bridge for the downhill, or a softer bridge for backcountry or park) or for different skill levels & preference.
What's the money for?
We've dedicated more than 4 yrs to develop the EFlex Snowboard and with your help we can change the construction of a snowboard. Backers of this project will be helping to create the first production run of EFlex Snowboards. Your pledges will enable us to buy the costly tools and moulds necessary to manufacture the snowboard. Further pledges will go towards essential expenses to further develop and enhance the technology for your EFlex Snowboard! We're grateful for every dollar pledged!
When will EFlex snowboards ship?
Just in time for the 2012/2013 ski season. We estimate production to complete in September. We would need 3-4 weeks for sorting shipping and packaging for a November delivery.
Are EFlex snowboards patented?
Yes, we have filed for several patents in several countries. We have been granted patents and are still pending in several countries.
A few words about us...
Our company manufactures and distributes skis,snowboards and skateboards since 1993 with our North American distribution office in Los Angeles. Our manufacturing site is located in Nürnberg, Germany. Our goal is to take our new and revolutionary product design of Erbacher Eflex Snowboards to production. After 4 yrs of hard work, we made "ready to ride" prototypes and exhibited at several International Tradeshows to test the markets interest from international distributors and retailers. We were blown away with the positive feedback and interest from retailers! We have our final protypes in place but need additional funding for tooling and moulding for manufacturing the boards. We ask for your support to enable us to begin a production run for the boards to make them available for this upcoming winter season!
About EFlex...
The Erbacher EFlex Snowboard project started out in 2008, with first handmade samples. We have invested lots time, money, and energy to develop the EFlex. The board is designed with a convexly bent bow, we call it "bridging". Standard bindings are mounted on top of the bow, once your strapped in your own body weight will pressure the bow down. This allows power transformation to the effective edge points of the board, which leads to easy carving capabilities. You will be amazed after your first run! At the same time the board can be twisted up to 45 degrees in the length axis, which can help you avoid falls from catching an edge, or bad landings in jumps. The bow acts like a spring feather, almost like a shock absorber. The bow is constructed from high quality, light weight, super strong carbon fiber making it one of the lightest boards on the market.
