About 2 Player Productions:
2 Player Productions was formed in 2005 by filmmakers Paul Owens, Paul Levering, and Asif Siddiky. Their breakout success came in 2008 with Reformat the Planet, a feature length documentary chronicling the global chip music scene. It debuted at South by Southwest Film Festival in 2008 and has played to eager audiences around the world.
Capable of bringing their unique style to any project, the team has built a reputation within the film, music, and gaming communities. Collaborators have included Sony, MTV, G4, CurrentTV, Pitchfork Media, Spike TV, Gametrailers.com, Video Games Live, and 8bitpeoples. 2 Player's most recent success "Penny Arcade: The Series", an episodic documentary chronicling the titular Penny Arcade webcomic, has been regarded as a leap forward in original internet programming.
(Although still not really an excuse for not saying anything for this long)
I actually funded double fine with the late paypal and am really impressed with the updates they give so far. I think they are just having trouble with updatey things to update us with for this project. I mean..what do you say really besides giving you the actual documentary?
What's the matter, guys? give us an update or give us any word or sign that this project is still alive. C'mon!
I would've at least liked to have received my wind-up creeper by now... But I guess they're shipping it all at once.
This was my first Kickstarter project backed; I'm pretty sad to see that I haven't received what I pledged for, to be honest. Please give an update on the documentary's progress!
Kickstarter really should have a way to rate a project creator on their performance. I feel bad knowing there's no easy way to warn future potential backers to stay a long way away from 2PP. Come on! It's been over a year since the project was funded, and almost six months since we saw an update about this project... the last "update" was almost four months ago and it was about 2PP taking on a *new* project. Just great. I feel really foolish having backed this.
I think the upside at this point is that it should be almost time for delivery. It is almost time, right? I don't really remember when they thought it would be ready anymore.
Are you going to update us on this project or not? This is pathetic.
I have tho say this is quite disappointing. I was really happy with the backing of this project but now I am almost regretting it. There hasn't been any true updates on the status of production in a while. I knew once they started doing the coverage of the Double Fine game that this would be out on the back burner. Oh well, it happens, hopefully we will see the film soon....
@2PP I know this is a big ask, but seeing as you offered a Blu-ray option for the DFA doc, would it be possible to slip that in when you're having the DVDs for Story of Mojang done? That would be awesome! I know it might be financially or logistically infeasible, but I thought I'd press my luck anyway since DFA managed it (albeit with a far greater budget)...
They briefly mentioned at the Double Fine Backer's forum that that they where back in Sweden this week for the documentary, so I'm guessing a new update won't be too far off. From the DFA, it seems to me that they like to post the rare massive update, rather than smaller, more frequent ones. I have no doubt it will be worth the wait though.

I think I posted this last time they did not respond for a while :)
come on guys, starting to wish I hadn't backed you now. Keep us updated.
@Josh Suprana actually that would make for a good update... ;-)
Any news? I'm still waiting for the DVD.
Come on guys, three months since the last update?? :(
NO updates...nice. Living in Portland I suppose I can find where their office is and "occupy" their office. Since its Portland I will most likely be pepper sprayed by police, and be seen on the evening news yelling, "DON'T TASE ME BRO!" On second thought I will just passive aggressively complain on this comment board.
I'd say they took on one project too many. :p
@solidgames, I would have been completely fine too if they had responded to any of my messages although I would have preferred a small update here. All I asked was an update via the comments section, doesn't have to be a 4 page with videos and pictures.
I messaged them 3 times in the past month and not one response. I can't believe I gave these guys $500 bucks... I feel like such an idiot.
Andrew Gill certainly speaks for me. This being my first (and least responsive) kickstarter funding. Busy is one thing but just putting a simple statement as to progress every once in a while would go a long way to preventing that "souring" feeling. The blog has gone months without any update and this has been the patter for a long while. Busy is fine, delays are expected, but how long does it take to post an update.
@Courtney, sweet thanks for letting us know. We'll see what happens now I guess.
I send 2pp a message and got a response today.
"The next update is coming soon! We ran into some production delays with Mojang but everything is back on track."
So hopefully we will see an official update soon.
It's pretty lame that you guys have logged into Kickstarter as recently as today but haven't bothered to address any of the comments or questions. Obviously you're super busy with the Double Fine thing, I totally get that! However, by neglecting to communicate with your backers, who made this whole thing possible in the first place, you're souring a lot of people on the whole Kickstarter thing; which I think is the crying shame.
I feel that I speak for all of us when I ask that you just tell us when we can expect an update. Thanks.
I know delays occur but not filling backers in on what's happening is pretty low. It's been over 11 days now since I messaged them to see what's been going on and nothing. Really regret this KS pledge.
I'd be fine with the fact that you guys moved on to new projects if you'd given an update and hopefully an ETA. It's been a year now and we've not even been asked to choose prints. Why'd you take on Double Fine if you're so busy? You crazy guys, please give us something...
It's been almost 2 months since the last update, and March 26th was the 1 year anniversary. I think everyone wants some type of update...
Messaged them last week, no response. Understand that they are probably busy but I wouldn't handle a kickstarter this way if I was doing one.
An update, with an ETA on backer rewards would be awesome. If that isn't possible an eta on an eta would still be nice.
I am a 30 USD backer, and i got a letter today from DHL that a parcel from the US (I live in germany) has reached my. I think, that this will be the DVD, could that be? Did anyone else receive something from the states?
+1 to another update, I agree with you John
Another vote for an update.
We've been waiting patiently and the last updated really only told us that you have a new project - not exactly awesome news for backers of *this* project
Yeah, we feel that we are being left in the dark :(
Please give an update to the community!
An update would be appreciated at this time.
Yes, some sort of "1 Year Later" update?
I'm with the other commenters in wondering what's going on with this project. The last update made it seem like it was almost done, but it's now been months. In the mean time, I've heard of at least two other projects that 2Player has taken on. Are we going to be able to enjoy this project soon?
Yes, I would like an online copy too!
How are things going guys? I'd love a little bit of an update to see how it's progressing! I'm really excited to get the DVD and creeper toy! ^_^
What's happening regarding HD downloads? Whilst I'm looking forward to receiving my "special, two-disc “Supporter Edition” DVD" I really want to watch it in 1080p. Are we going to be able to get a download as well?
What time is this supposed to come out? Just curious. Haven't thought on this for a while.
How close are we to a release? Can't wait to get my wind-up creeper!
The most recent update is great! Really looking forward to upcoming updates and ultimately the final product :) So glad I got around donating!
Thanks for the recent update emails guys, all good stuff!
But PLEASE reduce the size of the pics in the emails! They are twice the size of my screen which makes reading the email or looking at the pics very hard as i have to scroll endlessly. I know i can read the updates on here too, but it would be nice if the email was readable too :)
For all you guys with comments asking about moving, I asked that some time ago too (since I've moved countries even) and got told that when they're ready to get things all sent out for the DVD and all that, they'll send emails to ask people for the name they want on the DVD credits, and they'd ask for confirmation on the shipping address.
I do hope they put some more updates on here soon though, I'd love to know how it's all going!
For people looking for updates, I suggest their Twitter account. It is updated quite regularly, basically about where they are and who they are interviewing for the film etc.
I would imagine the Kickstarter updates are for lengthy posts, and perhaps they just don't have that much to say at the moment.
Hello! Since this is the main communication line between your backers and yourself I think it would be a good idea if you give us a short update about whats happening on your side.
A lot has happened and changed since your last update so it would be interestin how you are coping and what the progress is so far.
Thanks a lot!
Yea, would really appreciate and update since its been several months from the last one.
so i think its time to give an update now, we did give you $210 thousand dollars, and even if its just "hey, we don't want to spoil the movie but shits great over here" that would be cool
Hey yall, hope ur enjoying ur day : )
I know you guys are still shooting, but you really should get the film title an info onto IMDB.com.
