This novel is a gripping story about a man, in the middle of a post-apocalyptic future, looking to survive and find redemption.
This project is the latest book in the When Gods Fail Series. The series is about a man in a post-apocolyptical landscape trying to survive and come to grips with who he is. The first two books have already been written and published. The final one will be the hardest undertaking of my literary career yet.
The first story revolves around a man, Tom, who, while spelunking, finds himself trapped by a series of earthquakes. He digs his way out only to be met by a barren wasteland. Trying to make contact with his wife, he trudges along until he finds people... who tell him the world as he knows it is over. It's been nuked. Soon he finds himself fighting for his life as survivors attack him. He slowly morphs into something he can't recognize, a monster. When this change causes him to lose his new found love, he tries to redeem himself.
The second book has Tom discovering people who are also striving to build up the next civilization. Attracted by their charismatic leader and their belief in God, Tom accepts their way of life as the right one. Soon, however, he realizes that this only makes him more of a monster and he struggles to overcome the wrong in the community.
The next book (the Kickstarter project) will entail Tom's final journey to redemption for all the evil he has wrought. There will be other groups of survivors he will meet and try to make peace with, or war with if they are hostile. This book will entail numerous battle scenes, as well as heavy research into different religious texts. I will also use all my experience in survival (as a Green Beret) and in life to make the most psychologically realistic and detailed story ever conceived.
