Exhibition Images and Video:
The exhibition ends on June 2nd, so if you are in NYC between now and then, I hope you can make a visit to the gallery. If not, here are a few to images to give you a taste of the installation. Additional images and videos can be viewed here.
Greens by Donation for Donation:
The participatory part of the project has been a fun and successful social experiment. I usually spend a few days a week in the gallery interacting with visitors and "selling Greens by Donation for Donation." The rest of the time, the kind Mixed Green's gallery directors get to wear the rooster apron (see video). The majority of visitors choose to donate their purchased greens, so I've been able to supply CHIPs Soup Kitchen in Brooklyn with pounds of microgreens over the last few weeks.
Here I am dropping off the first harvest.
The Receipt and Rewards:
Your illustrated receipt is currently hanging on the gallery wall with all the other project supporters. Several friends pointed out that perhaps I wasn't clear in my original explanation: the receipt is a piece of art for you to keep. See the image below.
As soon as the show comes down, I will be mailing receipts off to those backers that would like them. If you didn't include your mailing address and $1 for postage in your pledge and would like your illustrated receipt, please message me.
Additional rewards will be available for pick up and delivery after the second week in June.
Thanks again for participating in 8 Extraordinary Greens!
