Project Coffee Pot is the vision of Ben Kelly and Adam Conrad in a performance that blurs the line between Theater and Performance Art. We've written a fictional story based on factual events about St Paul, Minnesota and the building of Interstate 94 and the resulting destruction of Rondo neighborhood. In a large space with malleable walls we present artistic depictions of selected scenes in the story through live painting, dance, poetry and song. We start with the audience tour-guided to a room where the story is told by a narrator. the audience will watch an original song that interprets the scene being presented. after moving walls and six theatrically designed scenes, the audience is left with an understanding of each side of the story.
