Cassie Ridgway's favorite Siren moment
Fashion/Workshops coordinator, Cassie Ridgway, shares her favorite moment at the Siren Nation arts festival:
Last year's workshops segment of the Siren Nation festival, included bicycle maintenance, yoga, women in rock n' roll history, sugar crafting, and many others. I was so excited about the "Women In Comedy: Constructing a Joke" workshop, taught by comic, Katie Brien (of Down To Funny). Oregon Public Bradcasting attended and filmed this segment because of the burgeoning comedy movement in Portland.
Katie's workshop challenged its attendees to construct their own joke using a “formula for funny.” We learned how embarrassing and challenging it is to try to be funny. You could hear laughter from across the Kennedy School.
