I'm sorry you're disappointed Jan. I clearly gave the dimensions of the Small and Standard sizes and I stated that the ONLY way it would fit the SB-600 was by modifying it with something like foam tape to fill in the gaps. I did test it and put the Small on a 600. I also suggested getting the black wristband since it's thicker and that would take up more interior space.
If you try my suggestions you'll be able to make it work. It was designed for the SB-700 and Canon 430, as I also stated in the description, but with a little ingenuity you'll be able to modify the fit. Another option is to use silicon "buttons" like you find at the hardware store to put on the bottom of a lamp or appliance. The little rubber feet pads that have adhesive on one side. Do you know what I'm talking about? They're usually clear silicon material, but I've seen them in black too. They come in different sizes and shapes. If you put a couple on the left and right sides (I'd put 2 on each side) it would fill the gap in the wide dimension and the sticky rubber would give the same grab and resistance that the silicon headband does. Would cost a Euro to remedy.
Please try that and I'm sure you will find it works fine as I said in the FlashPipe Updates section.

Unfortunately the small FlashPipe is way to big for the Nikon SB-600. I think you understated the problem by saying:
...so the small also fits on these [SB-600], but you'll have a little empty space on the sides. I would suggest putting a small piece of foam tape on each side of the head to [...] snug up the fit.
Without any modifications to the SB-600 the small Flashpipe falls right off when turning the flash upside down and shaking it very gently. I'm disappointed that you told us it would fit quite good without ever testing it.
Hopefully your suggested foam tape method will make it fairly useable.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now (Australia), and I am very happy with the results I'm getting with it so far. Glad that I got the standard as well as the smaller one so I'll have one when my larger flash arrives =)
Creator Stan on October 4, 2012
I had mine (2 standards) for a week now.
Very pleased with the soft diffused light in the pictures that I took. It even covers a wide angle shot (24mm) quite evenly with no hot spots. Using two flashes off camera, I am able to take portraits eliminating all shadows.

Seems like I still haven't gotten my Flashpipe yet. Any way you can look into this?
Creator James Bailey on October 3, 2012
Les, I've been using this for a week, and it has just been fantastic, I couldn't be happier. It's better on faces, on pets, and I've seen a massive improvement in photographing documents that were too large to scan (smoothing out all the creases, nice even light). Top job!
Creator Raphael Zydek on October 1, 2012
Hey Les! Got mine in the mail today (Germany)! I really really like it! Thanks a lot!
Creator James Dang on September 27, 2012
Thanks for all you hard work Les! Have just received mine in Australia, can't wait to try it out after work!

Thanks for letting me know you got your packages, Skye and Jools. Glad you were able to make it fit on your flash, Jools. I want people to customize them and make them their own. There were a few other Aussies on the list, Skye, but you win for reporting back first. :-)
The Cube will be very similar. It'll have a top flap like its siblings that can be opened or closed. So, yes, it'll be able to provide ceiling bounce as well. The trickie part is designing the mount to hold it in place. Cameras with pop-up flashes have a micro switch in the hotshoe that tells the flash not to open if it senses sometime in the hotshoe. I'm working on a way to defeat that feature.

I got my FlashPipe today (in the UK). Nice packaging! It wasn't a perfect fit for my flash (it's an old 1980s Vivitar one, so I wasn't expecting it to be). I managed to get it to fit adequately well with the aid of the wristband.
It definitely gives a nicer light than just bounce flash, so I'm very pleased with it. Looking forward to the FlashCube, if there's a way the FlashCube can be used so it gives a partial ceiling bounce, I'll definitely be buying one of those too.
Thanks :)

I wonder if there is anyone else in Australia, holding a real live FlashPipe in their hands? It arrived today, Les, and I am thrilled! Thrilled for me, of course, because I have a wonderful new toy to play with, and learn from, and make magic with. But I'm even more thrilled for you. This has been such an adventure - and seeing your spirit (and humour!) and determination to get FlashPipe out there and into people's hands and onto the end of their flashes, has been wonderful. Congratulations, Les! I can't imagine what it must feel like to see FlashPipe go from conception to reality, right before your eyes. It's quite late here and I have only just walked in the door and opened my wonderfully packaged envelope, so when I can do it justice, I will be sure to let you know how it all goes. THANK YOU! It has been a privilege to be a part of it all. Best wishes, Skye.

Hi Les!
I have a Canon Speedlite 199A.
It has following Dimensions: 40mm x 65mm.
Do you think the Small Version would fit?
Creator Adam Selby on July 31, 2012
Very excited to get my FlashPipe!
Creator David Richards on June 28, 2012
Good luck Les, it's a great idea and a very nice design, so I've just pledged. I can't wait to try it out on some close up portraits using my Nikon SB-700.
Creator Les Tirmenstein on June 26, 2012
Yes, here are the dimensions for both sizes:
The small is 1 5/8" x 2 5/8" or 1.625" x 2.625" or 42mm x 65mm.
The standard is 1 3/4" x 2 3/4" or 1.75" x 2.75" or 45mm x 70mm
If your flash head is within those measurements, you can make the current sizes fit. Keep in mind that the material flexes and will allow for some give. Also, you can adjust the fit buy opening the back panels and re-sizing using the hook & loop closures. You can even trim a sliver of material from the outside vertical edges and this will allow for a tighter/closer fit where the two back panels come together. But making the back two panels narrower they will overlap more and create a smaller internal diameter.
The silicon headband adds about 1mm of thickness to each side of your flash when it's stretched around the head.
If you still have gaps because your flash head is much smaller than these dimensions you can use foam tape to increase the thickness of your head. See UPDATE #7 where this is discussed and a link is provided so you'll know what kind of foam tape you'll be looking for.
Creator Ting Hsu on June 26, 2012
Do you have the dimensions of the flash heads that the small / medium sized flashpipes are designed for? I have a third party flash and would like to know which size is closest in fit.
Creator Victor Carrano on June 25, 2012
The model looks like Angie Harmon. Very pretty!
Creator Skye Mitchell on June 23, 2012
I was so happy to receive your relaunch email, Les! What a terrific start to the new project. I'm sure it will continue this way until the end. The sample shots are wonderful - gorgeous subjects. I honestly believe this is a must-have accessory/tool for anyone who enjoys looking through a camera lens. Best wishes for a thoroughly successful FlashPipe adventure!
