Excited to be back in its 8th year at DefCon!! theSummit is an exciting concert event taking place Thursday Night between the Black Hat Las Vegas and DEF CON conferences. We host this event to offer attendees the opportunity to meet up with many of this year’s DEF CON speakers along with the hacking communities most prominent figures.  Open to all ages, theSummit is an excellent networking opportunity with InfoSec luminaries, exclusive access to contest hints and secret keys, a full open bar and amazing entertainment provided by Dual Core, DJ Jackalope, DJ Sailor Gloom, and 8-Bit Weapon!

While we have been very successful over the last seven years, we are really excited to be involved in DEF CON 20th Anniversary year!  We want to really pull out the stops this year, and offer more amazing opportunities and memories.  Traditionally, theSummit party has always been funded by the generous pockets of the Vegas 2.0 members and various vendor sponsors. In the last two years we have also had the gracious support of Google’s Digital Liberation Front who have sponsored an ‘open bar’ for the first 2 hours of the event.

With the support of you through Kickstarter we are hoping to raise some initial funds to help invest in flare beyond our general costs. That means money raised through Kickstarter will go – in its entirety – towards Concert Bands and DJ's, giveaways and Event Souvenirs.  This kickstarter is not assoicated with the basic event costs (Room bookings, sound rental, etc.).   Because of this, we will be structuring our Kickstarter to have various tiers of Awesome.
