A new reward, and another thing entirely

Happy Holidays and Chag Sameach! As of today we've just crossed 93% funding! I am assuming that the rest of you aren't just hitting reload on the page every five minutes all day like I am. But with that in mind, I wanted to announce the second stretch reward:
Embroidered velvet tarot bags
Within the next 10 days, if we manage to go $5000 past our set goal ($30K total), then I'll be including embroidered velvet bags with every reward package that includes a full deck. The bags will be dark purple velvet with silver embroidery on the front that reads "The Urban Tarot" (Thanks for the idea on this, Sasha Albertini!) I'm looking at samples right now, so I'll give you photos and such as soon as I have them. This is in addition to the tarot spreadcloths that you'll get at $3000 over goal. I'm passing both of these on to you basically at cost, as a way of making the $65-and-higher rewards you've already pledged even more worthwhile. So with only 10 days left to closing, if those are add-ons you'd like to see included, please make sure you've passed on the project link to anyone you might know who might be interested in backing. I think they'd be a lot of fun to do and I'd love to have some additional ways of reward you, the backers, above anyone who might buy the deck down the line.
The Prismatic Art Collection
I'm concurrently involved in a totally unrelated Kickstarter project that just launched, that I wanted to let you all know about. It's the Prismatic Art Collection, and it's a really worthwhile endevour. Gaming writer/blogger Tracy Hurley and game designer/creative director Daniel Solis have come together to try and commission a set of fantasy character art featuring women and people of color and making that art available under the creative commons license. Because, frankly, there just isn't enough of it out there. Despite all reason to the contrary and plenty of concerted efforts to fight it, the world of fantasy art continues to be a very male-dominated and whitewashed world. Frankly it's more than a little embarrassing in this day and age. I'm one of a baker's dozen of illustrators who have pledged to contribute art towards this, and I'm delighted to be included. The Chariot and the Feast: One contributor will receive one large print of The Chariot, signed by both the artist and by the model - Tse Wei Lim. The print, plus two full first-edition tarot decks and guidebooks, will be waiting for the contributor at his/her table at Journeyman, an elegant restaurant founded by Mr. Lim and his wife Diana Kudajarova in Somerville, MA. The lucky contributor will meet the model and enjoy a full 5-course dinner for two, prepared by the man himself and his legendary team.

Strength, Justice, and the Game: One contributor will receive large prints of both Strength and Justice, signed by both the artist and by the model - noted game designer and speaker Jessica Hammer. Ms. Hammer will conduct a 2-hour seminar for you and up to 7 of your friends on a game-design topic to be decided in consultation with you. For those who cannot travel easily to the NY area, arrangements over Skype can be made. This reward will also include a full first-edition tarot deck and guidebook for you and each of your guests (up to 8 total).

Join the Cast: You can loan your image to one of the remaining cards in the set. I'll consult with you and determine the card that makes the most sense for you, then we'll plan a 1-hour model shoot in NYC, where I'll get photographic reference of you posing in the design I've sketched out. When the deck is complete, you'll get the full deck, guidebook and of course a full-size signed print of the card that you helped create.

Weekend with the Artist: One contributor will stay with us for a weekend at our apartment on the Upper West Side of NYC. You will not only get to model for one of the cards, but you'll also see how it all comes together. I'll give you 1-on-1 lessons in my design process and in how I work digitally. You'll be treated to games, food and strange conversations with many of the card models, and I'll take you to some of my favorite spots around the city. And we'll send you off with a reward package including a deck, guidebook and two prints of your choice, plus you'll naturally get a third print of the card you modeled for, once it's complete.
