Exploration Unknown is a documentary telling the story of adventure seekers off to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.

On Feb. 25, 2013, Curtis, Nate and Russell will begin a journey up the tallest free-standing mountain in the world.

Mt. Kilimanjaro.

While much of this documentary will be focused on climbing to Uhuru Peak of Kilimanjaro, much still will focus on what it takes. Questions such as what physical conditioning to focus on, how to plan, and necessary gear will be addressed and answered.

This is the beginning of our quest for Kilimanjaro.

The full project, known as Exploration Unknown - Kilimanjaro, will feature training footage from Saddle Mountain near Seaside, Oregon, Mt. Bachelor in central Oregon and various other training and preparation clips. There will be the use of location maps, as well as detailed information about each climb, the different types of gear used, and physical training.

The main purpose of this film is to educate and inspire those who have a longing for adventure to go out and find one.

In addition to offering inspiration, this film also will bring awareness to the crumbling of the glacier regions of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Exploration Unknown - Kilimanjaro will be shown at theaters in and around Portland, Oregon by the end of April 2013. DVD releases will be available by the middle of May 2013. (all subject to change)

We need a total of $10,000 to complete this film. However, we are looking at raising money in smaller amounts month-to-month to hopefully make it easier.
