Astro Academy is a science fiction novel set in a high school.

We follow the adventures of six students. We begin with them in seventh grade and learn about them.   EVERYONE reading this will be able to relate to at least one of them.

Tyler is very smart, polite and friendly. He is always willing to help out. He is willing to do anything for anyone, especially if it means not having to go home. His alcoholic parents make his life very difficult. He hides in his bedroom watching movies about epic space battles just to escape the horrible existence in his apartment.

Matt lives with his mother and brother in the inner city. He wants to join a band at his school and does everything he can to get involved. He is shorter than the other boys at his school and he wants to fit in. He sees another boy being picked on and has to intervene.   Matt always knows he has to do the right thing.

Sarah does not fit in at school. She decides to join the Goth culture, but even the other Goths do not accept her. She retreats inward, avoiding everyone. But she does not understand why no one will talk to her. The others avoid her because she is so distant. She has gotten herself into a circle which is spiraling out of control.

Elias is the smartest student in his school. He joins the academic clubs and has earned the respect of all his teachers and classmates. When the less serious students insist he help them cheat, Elias is torn. He wants to do the right thing, but does not know how to get out of the awkward situation they have put him in.

Mary is an artist. She has a happy life with her two loving parents. She is extremely talented and intelligent.  She is not overly popular, lives by a beautiful lake in the mountains and has her small circle of friends.

And Corey is a nerd.   A geek.   He likes science fiction and is a master at the local laser tag arena. In Friday nights, he is the ever popular king of laser tag. But Monday through Friday, he is the target of vicious bullies at school. Corey uses laser tag to escape the reality of the awful experiences he has every other day.

When each student is approached by a teacher and told to apply to Astro Academy, they are thrilled to have such an opportunity.   They travel off to the school and meet.   And once there, the adventure begins...

Astro Academy is the first in a series of books who will follow the adventures of these students all through high school.   They start off as regular high school students, experiencing things students still have to deal with. 

As the story progresses and they find out more about the Academy, they are drawn into adventures which not only affect them, but could have global consequences.  

The novel teaches us the history of the Aztec Empire, as the descendants of the few survivors play a major role in the story.

This will be the first of a series of novels set in this exotic, exciting new world. The first and second books are complete and the third is well underway.   Everyone will be able to experience a new series of stories about teens in exciting new adventures with your help.   Kickstart this project and we can get it off the ground!
