About this project
Fresh off her recent international tour, Theresa Andersson is getting ready to record her next album and is reaching out to you for your support and active involvement in its creation. An independently-produced album involves a lot of hard work, passion, energy - and funding. And as Theresa embodied in her last album/tour (and the YouTube video for the track 'Na Na Na'), her music continues to involve her fans in new and interesting ways. This time around she wants to build on this and engage her fans, current and new, in the "making of the music" itself. How? Theresa has decided to tear down the walls - literally - between you and her home studio, and unveil the whole process, uncensored. In doing so, Theresa will open up her unique and experimental creative process to her fans live and in real-time. As she records her next album - in her home - along with her friend and collaborator Tobias Froberg, she will explore new musical territory with elements that differ from her past work - creating a level of innovation and excitement for both herself and all involved. You can be part of it all - the live creative process, the experimentation, the music - with several options to participate and engage with Theresa directly along the way. You'll also have the opportunity to be the first to get her new album, along with a number of other exclusive and meaningful goodies and experiences, depending on how you choose to support Theresa and her project.

Melody, harmony, rhythm, timbre; these are the traditional building blocks of pop music. Yet although you will find them in abundance on Hummingbird, Go! (her last album), Theresa Andersson hardly sounds like conventional pop. That's because the New Orleans singer-songwriter chose to approach her craft from different perspectives before she even began composing. "I stopped thinking in terms of traditional songwriting," Andersson explains. "I worked on shapes, forms, and textures, scents and colors. Elements which are more earthy and organic inspired me." She would walk along the Mississippi River, or relax in her garden. As ideas emerged, she caught them in her butterfly net – or rather, on her laptop – and let them converge, then blossom.
