Lost And Found Comes Alive will be the new album by the band, Lost And Found. Watch the video to help it happen.
Lost And Found Comes Alive is what our listeners have been asking for, ever since we found anyone willing to listen: An album that captures the experience of seeing Lost And Found live. Songs, of course, but also talking, joking, storytelling, cultural moments with Lost And Found, and the all-around spontaneity that makes a Lost And Found concert so unique.
As we explain in the video, our usual method of album funding has been disrupted for this project. No one expected doctors to find a football-sized tumor in Michael's abdomen, but that discovery has forced us to make some changes.
For twenty years, we have played concerts to raise the money to record an album to sell at the concerts to raise the money to make the next project. As you'll see in the video above, we need to slow down on concerts for a little while, but we still want to make this double live album, as we've dreamed of doing for so long, and as The People have been asking us to do.
With your help, this exciting project will become a reality, and the Lost And Found concert experience will finally be available to share with your friends. Or, put another way, you can stop having to say, "You really have to see them in concert in order to get it."
A note on Kickstarter's functionality: You can contribute to the project without receiving any of the so-called "rewards." (Let's face it, some people wouldn't consider getting our albums to be a "reward.") Alternatively, you can contribute to the project at a higher dollar amount without having to clutter up your CD rack with CD's you might already have. Or, you can contribute more than the listed amount for a particular item. (So, you might want to simply pre-order the live CD if that's all you want, but then contribute $1,000 toward the project, if you really like us as human beings, or what have you.)
Any funds above our goal of $20,000 will be used for promoting this album, which may mean everything from transportation, to magazine ads, to billboards, to a logo on the moon, depending on how "above our goal" we go together, because we really can say with confidence that Lost And Found Comes Alive will be our best album ever!
We hope you'll consider supporting us on this project, and during the months ahead. We promise to do our best to keep making music that is relevant, meaningful, and fun!
FAQ
-
Well, we think it means the date that an album is released to the general public. Sometimes people use the term "drop date," but that sounds kind of pessimistic if you ask us. In our case, this album will have a street date of late July . . . ish. You see why we've never had a "street date" before? We can't decide on a date!
-
Fortunately, we had already recorded all the tracks at concerts over the course of a couple weeks back in April, 2012 before medical issues had surfaced. So now it's just a matter of getting stuff mastered and fabricated. (Those are two technical terms that go with "street date," and are a little beyond our understanding. We just know they have to happen, and they cost money to do.)

George Answers:
Hey, if you're willing to help us out on that level, I'll go with anything legal and not considered offensive. A few of my favorite options are, "Wait For It," "Spectacular," and "Robert."

So many of you have asked this question, and we certainly thank you for your generous impulse. However, $10,000 is the maximum support Kickstarter allows, and George can only have one middle name per album. So, you may have to settle for a House Concert, but we promise it will be fun. ;-)

NO!
Okay, just kidding . . .
Of course you can still get the CD when the Kickstarter project is over. However, you cannot get the CD for the same discounted price once the Kickstarter project is over. If you want it for $25 including shipping, you've got to get on it.

Yes.

The single Cd's and downloads and a few other categories went out on June 29th to those who responded to the Kickstarter survey with their address. A few of the other items (like the ipod nanos and Confirmands' Special) are taking a bit longer, because George is traveling in early July.
But we are confident we will have everything mailed out well before we actually start selling the CD's at concerts on July 17tth. And, as a reminder, in order to receive your "rewards," you need to fill out that Kickstarter survey so that we can get your address and so forth.
So, get surveying!
