About this project
First of all, thank you for taking the time to check out our Kickstarter project! The fact that you even clicked on this link means so much to us. We are looking forward to finishing this project and embarking on several new projects with your help!!
Euphonism was formed from a Washington, D.C. craigslist posting back in 2006. Since our inception we have gone on to perform at many local venues and festivals, sing national anthems at D.C. sporting events, place in the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes, and rocking the local wedding scene. In 2008, we joined the Contemporary A Cappella League and since that point we have grown tremendously as a group through lots of hard work, and the fortune of being able to network within the community through CAL at all the great a cappella festivals across the country!
Joining the League has allowed us to have amazing experiences working with renowned a cappella professionals in classes, coachings, and performances, and given us the opportunity to open for premier groups like SONOS, Duwende, and Grammy-winners, The Swingle Singers! Over the past 2 years, our hard work has been recognized with nominations for several CARAs (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) and ACAs (A Cappella Community Awards), as well as the Wammies (Washington Area Music Awards)! We are so excited to be a part of the League and are working extremely hard to not only get better at what we do, but also in bringing the Euphonism experience for our audience to a new level in many different ways.
Now we have even bigger things on the horizon….many of our biggest dreams are now concrete, attainable goals and we need your help to get there!
Earlier this year, we began recording our very first full length album using current production techniques. Our previous efforts have included a weekend album, and several singles to get us accustomed to this new way of recording as a group. Recording an album (as many of you know) requires many hours of arranging, rehearsal, tracking, editing, and lots of equipment. We have made great progress so far, but we need some assistance to make it to the finish line!
Outside of the studio, we're also making big changes to our live performances. Inspired by the works of other amazing groups, we're also expanding our live show with innovative arrangements that will require the support of additional equipment. With big shows on the calendar and more in the works, we're working hard in rehearsal to not only hone our musicality and performance skills, but also master the use of technology that is bringing a new edge to our sound.
So, the big question... what are you funding?
If funded, all of the earnings from this project will go to help us with the costs of mastering, replication, and art design for our forthcoming album. We will also add a new line of effects units to expand our live capabilities. We are hoping to raise $6,000 to support these costs.
We are scheduled to have the album out by January 2012, if everything goes to plan! Please consider contributing to our project, even a small amount helps, and it is all so very appreciated. We thank you for taking the time to check out our efforts, and hope you will consider helping out and spreading the word (the word being 'a cappella', of course)!
Love and thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Laura, John, Johanna, Joe, Jeeves, Charlie and Amanda

Euphonism was created from a fateful Craig's List post in 2006 that brought together several musicians at the Metro Center Caribou Coffee in downtown DC. Those meetings turned into rehearsals and rehearsals turned into shows. With bold first steps, Euphonism's first public performance was in front of 20,000 screaming Washington Capitals' fans at the Verizon Center in November 2006.
Since then, Euphonism has created a name for itself in the DC area and the a cappella community at-large with performances at the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes, East Coast A Cappella Summit, SingStrong, SoJam, VoCAL Nation, local music venues, schools, festivals, weddings, and surprise engagement proposals. The group provides all-vocal music entertainment from all genres for all ages.
Euphonism is a proud member of CASA's Contemporary A Cappella League and is also on the prestigious artist roster of A Cappella Records.
