Indie the TV Show is a project about a band struggling to get into the indie rock scene, trying to get signed, all while being filmed by a group of rookie documentarians. More than just a show about a band however, Indie's first season is about two very different men who are drawn together by their mutual love of music and will to follow their dreams.

Lowell, the front man, is a singer/songwriter struggling to get by while pursuing his art. Socially anxious, he is deadly serious about his music, and while many underestimate him due to his lackadaisical attitude toward living in modern society, he becomes a powerhouse when writing and recording music. His main problem is that he's never quite found the right band to back up his tunes, until he finds out that his friend Roland may have some interest in producing his current band mates.

Roland is a middle child in a family of legal professionals, whose legacy in regards to law is set in stone. Raised alongside his brothers to follow their father's dreams of them all becoming lawyers, Roland struggles with deciding whether to do what his family has done for generations, or to forge his own path and follow his gut instincts to pursue music and abandon a profession and lifestyle that the modern economic climate have made less fruitful than ever.

Indie's a show about characters. Think Entourage meets Behind the Music. We'll be exploring the music industry from the perspective of our musicians, desperate to break into the business in the modern age, showcasing both digital marketing and distribution as well as promotion and just about everything a young musician would ever want to know about breaking into the scene.

Our Kickstarter project is a request for the funding for an eight episode season, with episodes at sitcom length. We need money for video and audio equipment, software, set design, band equipment and to help cover the locations we want to film in. It takes a lot to make a show like this, and frankly we need a lot of help. Alongside you we can deliver the type of production value that will send Indie up to the next level.

We also plan to use our program to promote local artists, bringing you original music, and showcasing local venues.

Alongside our first season we will be releasing an EP of the band's music, and after the season's release we will present their full album. It is an ambitious project, one that ties in both film and music, but we are fully underway right now. We just need a bit of help to put some real polish on it, and that's where you come in.
