Update #2: Only four days left!
Hey everyone, first I just want to say thank you for all your support! Thanks to your help we reached the project goal! Right now we're at $6,580 and have four days left. There are only four bikes still available, so if you know of anyone that may be interested or if you need a last minute Christmas gift there's still time.
With that being said it's time to start on the next phase. The first event to come up will be the video conference on January 7th. I will be sending an email to all of you with more information regarding that. The next order of business will be to get all the back scratchers, stickers, bike racks, t-shirts, and hoodies to all those who pledged for them. If you have any suggestions or desires feel free to hit me up and I'll see what I can do! Last but not least are the bikes. I will be contacting the future District Bamboo bike owners after Christmas to go over the details.
As for the company, the frame jig is in and the cad program is set up and ready to go. The logo is being worked on and will be done very shortly. I am well on my way to building bamboo bikes! I'm pretty stoked!!
I hope all of you have a very good Christmas and I will getting in touch with you again soon! Thank you all once again. You're the ones that made this possible.
Philip
Update #1: Week one
Ok everyone we're a week into it and 20% of the goal has been reached. I just ordered the frame jig and its currently on its way! With this I'll be able to get super straight and solid frames built just the way you want them!
As you know though Kickstarter is all or nothing and time is ticking! I've been putting my bike out in various places around DC, tagging the hell out of sidewalks in the area, and trying my best to contact everyone on the internet. If you know anyone that may need a nice hemp T shirt, hoodie or a bamboo bike let them know about the project!
I'm in the process of figuring out some sort of guerilla marketing that will bring more attention without me getting arrested. I WILL make this successful :-)
Also in the spirit of generosity I've made the bike reward a $700 now instead of $750. Hope you have a good day!
