We've launched an exciting new project of our own! Introducing the Kickstarter app for iPhone!

Funded! This project successfully raised its funding goal on July 9, 2012.

Last Three Days

Update #20 · Jul 6, 2012 · 13 comments

We're in the last three days of the campaign, and we are 13% shy of our goal. We are very close! We really appreciate all the messages and comments of support we've gotten over the last few days, and the enthusiasm of our community is thrilling to be a part of.

BUT, we're not there yet. Almost. We have a few more days, and we need everyone spreading the word as much as they can. We're getting press in some great places (links below), and the pledges are coming in, but we just haven't hit critical mass in numbers. As much as it would warm our hearts for everyone to increase their pledges (please do, of course, if you're so inclined), we could really use a half-dozen of each of your pals showing up too.

I've liked the razor thing, changed my FB profile pick, shared on FB and with friends, upped my contribution to a measly 25$. Please, it is so close! Please help show these people that their work means something! We are shaping the future! GIVE THIS PROJECT LIFE!

I just upped my pledge by an order of magnitude. Playing a realistic blade fighting game has been a dream mine since my days on fencing team in college, and the fact that Subutai will make their basic mechanics engine available to others means that this campaign will not just create a game, but spawn a whole generation of games with a new class of mechanics. Forget jerkins and chain mail, think Giant Mechas, Dune-based knife-and-shield duelling, and General Grievous-style multi-arm light sabers. Even realistic hand-to-hand combat could be facilitated by this system.

Yesterday was your first $20K day since the opening week. Today's shaping up to be similarly big. It'll be tight, but I think I see a CLANG t-shirt in my near-ish future.

I really don't have any money right now... :(
      I pledged my best: 10$.
I deprived myself from coca-cola for one week. ;)

As we say in France, "je touche du bois".
      Hope you're gonna make it.

The URL has been corrected in the update above.

@Fiohnel. As to the Eurogamer link, this is why we include the full URL in the text of the update as well. Idiosyncrasies of mail clients and how Kickstarter translate line wrap lead to these sorts of accidental spaces.

On the update e-mail I received, the first link leads to http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-07-05-the-duellist-neal-stephens%20on-interview which is 404 due to that space in stephenson, while the second link is broken as reported above.

...not a good, professional-looking impression for an update.

THE WAR KNIFE VERSION: Gotlandic war knife based on a design by bladesmith Jeff Pringle (a wootz and pattern welding specialist). These are replicas of 8th century weapons, not unlike what would be carried by the OMVI from Týrshammar in our Foreworld stories. In those days, "war knife" meant something akin to "short sword" rather than "pocket knife." This reward also includes a studio tour and lunch with the team, as well as all preceding lower-tier rewards (except the $1241 and $1294 level rewards and the sword).

    Estimated delivery: Feb 2013
