Mac and Linux
We want to bring CLANG to Mac and LINUX, and with today’s announcement of Unity 4 supporting Linux, we're even more eager to try to make this happen. We are now quite confident that CLANG release with Windows and Mac simultaneously, and with Linux shortly thereafter. Now we just need to make sure that the Hydra will work, too. Sixense technology has an SDK that we can use to enable the Razer Hydra run on Mac and Linux as well. So as a stretch goal of $800K, we'll do our damndest to make Mac and LINUX support work.

THE WAR KNIFE VERSION: Gotlandic war knife based on a design by bladesmith Jeff Pringle (a wootz and pattern welding specialist). These are replicas of 8th century weapons, not unlike what would be carried by the OMVI from Týrshammar in our Foreworld stories. In those days, "war knife" meant something akin to "short sword" rather than "pocket knife." This reward also includes a studio tour and lunch with the team, as well as all preceding lower-tier rewards (except the $1241 and $1294 level rewards and the sword).
Estimated delivery: Feb 2013Pledge $10,000 or more

Mac! Yes!

Guys I'm rooting for ya! I just wish I could grab one of those 10k slots ;D
Creator Michael on June 19, 2012
I'm very happy about the Mac news. I reluctantly contributed because I'm very excited about this, but I'm never happy having to boot my Mac Pro into Windows hell. Thank you so much for planning to make this work (assuming you get to $800K). I'll be sure to mention this to every Mac person I know.

Excellent news! I'm increasing my pledge. Please make sure to spread this news to mac and linux centric sites. I'm a Mac user myself and I found out about your project from John Gruber's Daring Fireball blog http://daringfireball.net/linked/2012/06/09/clang (which is very popular btw). If you can manage to get another mention from him (perhaps if you make another cool video?) I'm sure you'll get quite a few more backers.

Sounds like a FANTASTIC application for the upcoming Google Glass hardware.... I'm just saying...
Creator Jonathan Zuckerman on June 19, 2012
I for one can't see the point of wanting to play this on a mobile device - with all the footwork and stabbing that will probably be required, it will be really hard to keep your eye trained on a tiny screen like that, and who will be holding it up for you while you play?
Creator Tim Jensen on June 19, 2012
If you can do Linux, you can do Android. Personally, I want to play a game like this outside, away from a computer screen. Otherwise what's the point?
Creator Lars Ivar Igesund on June 19, 2012
yay!
Creator Baja on June 19, 2012
hope we get to 400k soon, I want to see that next video
Creator Eric Elkins on June 19, 2012
You just made me 89% more likely to increase my donation!
Creator Tyler on June 18, 2012
My pledge just went up 25x. If you can do Mac then I'm in.
Creator Marc Kent on June 18, 2012
Great news, I had been crossing my fingers that a mac version would be possible. I much prefer playing games natively in Mac OS even in cases where the performance isn't quite as good as the same game running under Windows.
Creator Omnifarious on June 18, 2012
Well, that's exactly what I was waiting for. Not exactly a commitment, but close enough for me. :-) My pledge quadrupled. ;-) And if I can afford it before the campaign runs out, I will find a way to manage that 5k pledge since I live in Seattle. :-)
Creator Geoffrey Miller on June 18, 2012
Yeah, I was assuming MacOS out the door, too. Oh well. I'll still honor my pledge even if it's not.
Creator Dirk de Boer on June 18, 2012
Awesome! I love you guys.
Creator Paul Clark on June 18, 2012
Hmm, I was presuming it would run on Mac but I guess it should work almost as well in vm so no biggie, Native would be ideal of course.
Creator Valvar on June 18, 2012
"FUCK YEAH!" is the first reaction that comes to mind. I currently run Windows, but when Steam (as has been promised) eventually comes to Linux I am fully moving over, no matter what. I really hope you guys get as much backing as possible; I myself will increase my pledge in a moment.
