A new Film by Steven Strauss & Hunter Schlesinger

"Blood" intersects the lives and states of minds of three women at three very  different stages of their lives. The eldest woman (in her 50's), is coping with aging, abandonment, and a near-constant state of depression due to feeling unattractive and past her prime on all fronts. Her husband has just left her and her two daughters 17, 27.  The girls, like their mother are trying to set the stage for as happy a life as possible but circumstances (genetics) are out of their control. Ultimately "Blood" is character study on beauty, vulnerability, perception, self-worth, and the emotional ups and downs that go along with aging and relationships deteriorating whilst constantly navigating through a superficial world.

I am currently working on a suite of films, this being the second which explore various issues of feminine struggles. (Bronze, recently completed, is the first film in this series - it explores themes of exploitation and vulnerability. Blood will explore aging, desire, manipulation, and dominance. ) 

I have worked for a decade on a budget of almost $0, but I am now aiming for a little bit more production value in my work. Years of working with no money has taught me to be resourceful and work bare bones. The funds sought for this film will go towards equipment purchases and rentals. From a technical stand-point a lot of this film needs to be shot with wireless microphones, which is one piece of equipment our production company does not have. Most of the money sought will go towards the purchase of these microphones. The rest of the funds will cover some travels expenses for actors, food, lodging, data storage, and props.
