About this project
The Appleseed Collective is recording our debut album, "Baby to Beast."
For the last year we've been traveling the country with a live recording, sharing our music with friends old and new. It's a great piece of our history but now we're ready to craft a focused album that shows how much our sound has grown. What we want now at our 1 year birthday is to deliver beautiful AND professionally recorded music to your headphones and car stereos. So, we need your help.
The funds we raise with Kickstarter will be used to record, mix, master and print the album. We'll be doing all of our work right here in Michigan.
We're a homegrown group out of Ann Arbor. We have a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and tons of music to share with the world. We like to make things with our own hands, and try to connect with others that feel the same way. We've found a lot of support from the local food movement in Ann Arbor, and now we'd like to give back. We're going to donate half the profits from the first pressing of this album to Selma Cafe, a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps local farmers build hoop houses to extend their growing season.
This is a very exciting project for us, and our community. We hope you'll join us!

An Americana Gypsy-Jazz outfit from Ann Arbor, MI, The Appleseed Collective formed in late November of 2010 somewhat randomly and with surprising inertia. In the last year they've shared the stage with Steppin in It, The Ragbirds, and Frontier Ruckus. With all members of the band writing songs, the sound is eclectic; equal parts their own character and an influence which reaches back to the turn of the century.
