So what i can assume from what i have seen is (all statements below are based on what I sourced from the www)
1. they bulk-sourced Z3 (might have)
2. Used Pyntall LLC (to put up all the custom apps)
3. Got the Qi wireless charging capabilities..
4. Polished it a bit, and announced it on KS
5. Waiting for us to chip in to improve the details.

As everyone else.. Vak your tech guys have yet to respond. Before allegations are beyond control. However secretive you wish to be, you have come into the open to ask for supporting a project you thought could improve the Smartwatch arena. Now its time, to show us some details..

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt instead of hopping in to this bully machine. It's a product in its early stage and if he says that the rock will look and do something and he has a team of developers, engineers, and designers to make it happen.. (I read the bio)

Sometimes trying to discredit a product is easier than making and developing one. My brother is also an entrepreneur and I don't like it when people try to discredit and dishonor him (read: doubters) and not giving him any space to explain himself or the overall development of the product..

Vak to me is probably the same.. a hardworking entrepreneur trying to develop a product and bringing it for a very affordable price.

I don't care if they have their manufacturers in China (most US companies do that nowadays). What I care about is that he's willingness to turn something basic into something luxurious for a very consumer friendly price.

I also searched on Pyntail (The Rock's partner) just to see if they are real and capable to develop the necessary apps that Vak is claiming to have..

And they are.

Just calm down people.. I noticed that some of the backers take joy and pleasure in brining some down (typical jealous crab mentality)..

This is kickstarter for god sake! It's a community where we give entrepreneurs a chance to introduce their product, heck even more time to develop it further.. these are real people risking their image and money..

So to have some random keyboard warrior bullies is a little bush league in my opinion..

That being said.. I'm sure they have a good explanation.. and I'm even betting that they got screwed by their manufacturers (as a lot of companies who do their work in China)..

or better yet The Rock is a company that creates and develops a top of the line Smartwatch based off a basic one.. which is entirely fine.. a lot of Kickstarter companies do exactly that.

Again.. for the sake of good enterprise.. don't hate too much people.

Thanks @Tira for bringing the design details of Uplay Z3 to us as well as Rock LLC or Pyntall LLC 's attention.
So i am inclined to say uPlay Tablet (Z3) is either their company (which is American but manufactures in China).. Or Its just a waiting game until the technical people come up with clearer 'non-infomercial' type answers.

That said, the specs of Z3 dont match-up with the little amount of details quoted on this project page...

@ All I believe most of you would have looked through the videos.. I dont have flash active in my browser, so didnt see any videos on the project page, sorry for disturbing the actual timeline of the discussions happening here.

@Alon Walter when a smartwatch will have 4GB of Ram is when a smartphone will have at least 8GB of Ram!! this poor Z3 have only 256mb of Ram.
What funny is in the video that @Deze post you can see Vak with the engineer, testing a board and he even dont know what are the spec of his own watch that he pretending to develop for very long years?? Hahahaha so funny this project,
Please Vak try to not insulting our intelligence anymore...
Keep in mind that your backers are the engine and the heart of your project.

I guess I'll still ask a couple a questions that I have. There's no speaker, do you listen to music through a headphone jack, or is there a ad2p profile to use Bluetooth headphones or speakers? Can the microphone work for commands like Google now? Are there gestures with those sensors to do things like skip tracks, answer texts, etc.?

I also analyse today all your project and i got to tell you that I am more than disappointed.
1.The clock face screen with all the icons this is just a Gif that running on the screen.
2.If you didnt know this Chinese company that do the cheap watch (Z3)?!!? Why did you use the same pictures as the company in China that produce this cheap watch ?

3.In your project you show us a picture of a board of the watch, but this board not corresponding of the watch board, how this board have a place for 2 buttons and your watch that you are presenting have 1 button ?? and many more that i will not enter in it because its seem to me that you dont understand anything about your project or on smartwatches.... strange for a person that develop it or pretend to develop it its sound to me better !
4.You show in your project a screen (Pebble style) but the screen of your watch is a 1.54 inch so how the screen of testing are smaller, different and not in color ?
5.For the QI charger if from Appscomm(Chinese company) they tell you it is possible dont believe them its just an advise for you, it will never work due to the back of this watch.
6.You are writing in the "UP AGAINST THE COMPETITION Table" that you have a 1.54 Oled ?? Did you know that a Oled screen only Samsung produce it and its starting from 1,63.
7.High definition 1080P how you get to that on a poor TFT screen with 240X240 ?
Every time that I see this project more and more I find it to much like a scam sorry!!
Hope that you will answer to all my questions and not try to answer one like you are trying to do with all the other backers!!!!

I am really disappointed to see a project like that (Scam) in Kickstarter!!
I love Kickstarter and a big fan of it but sorry I feel that I need to alert all the backers here even that I was needed to pay to write this comment!!
The smartwatch that you are presenting is a poor Chinese smartwatch that is calling the Z3, she came out in China one year ago with no success due to the Bluetooth connection problems with smartphones, the Z3 cost around 30$ on bulk quantities, the spec of this cheap smartwatch are far like you are pretending, very disappointing also to see that you lie to all of us and pretending for long years that your team develop it.
Take good examples of Pebble, Agents, Omate this guys real work and develop a smartwatch!!!!
Shame of you and your Team very frustrated that Kickstarter dont do anything and allow this types of projects!!
Next time try to do your homework and be logical with the spec, 4GB of Ram ?? what you are joking on backers ? 4GB of memory ? For your record this poor Chinese smartwatch have 2GB of memory and 256mb of Ram it is Running on Android 4.1 and not 4.2!! Oled screen?? 1080P ?? What are you dreaming ?? Even you dont know how to explain what is a resolution so you want Oled screen and 1080P on it ?? Vak please stop jock on us, not everybody are dumb!! For your knowledge the Z3 screen is 1,54 poor lcd. Its not possible to add QI charger on the Z3 due to his construction, the charger is a clip like the first Omate charger.
The App is also developed by the same Chinese company by the name of Appscomm dont confuse with the well known company Foxconn and they are far to finish the app for just receiving Text message.
Notifications such as Facebook, Email can be receive only by wifi and not like you are pretending by your smartphone like the Gear!! Next time also dont jock on others and do comparisons with Omate and the Neptune Pines that are far far away advanced from the Z3 specifications and features even the old good Pebble are better!!

As one of the skeptics of this project, I have to raise the possibility that the Rock team did get their product / design copied by the Chinese partner who is now selling cheaper copies of their original design. Has been known to happen before (even much bigger companies face these issues, so small startups are high at risk).

Having said that, and considering how light on technical info and tech knowledge this campaign (and the campaigns website) has been so far, the burden of proof lies on Vak and his team that they do indeed have an original product they are designing and building. Giving us proper spec information and easy to understand pictures/movie demoing the prototypes they must have, considering they are supposed to be a few months from delivery to consumers (and not marketing movies like the intro movie in the campaign, but a new film with Vak demoing one of his prototypes to the camera) (considering they promise delivery in a few months) is a base-line requirement to gain trust in this project again. I for one am staying at the $1 pledge level until given clear information and proof that his is not vaporware and not a copy/re-use of some cheap no-name "smart" watch.

With all US companies who manufacture their products in China, there is a risk. I just hope you guys get the funding necessary to get this to produce and shipped out on time. Based on what I see it's a great looking product and functionality looks like its well thought of too...I bought a Fitbit Flex that was about 100 bucks...this looks like it does that and more...Cant wait to get mines and try it out!!!

Oooops I ment to say ridiculously priced smartwatch (but of course not ridiculously looking either LOL) no one has money to loose especially me and others like me..... I was laid off my job of 13 years 2 months ago. So should I be talking risks? Probably not, but I want what I want and actually this is pretty exciting and fun to be a part of somthing big. I'm being more realistic as a lot of products nowadays are made overseas and it's mainly a matter of improving it -- whether from hardware or software -- to cater to its desired market.

For The Rock I think they were able to do two things..

Make a normal looking hardware.. to a highly sophisticated Smartwatch by developing out of the box apps, design and redesigning the band, etc.. It's like buying an apple pie in Albertsons and putting loads of time to make it look and taste like an apple pie from Whole Foods. (Personally I think that requires a lot of effort haha)

And they've also catered something that a lot marginal smartwatches have failed to do.. provide a very affordable and consumer friendly price point.. I showed this link to some of my friends and they actually wanted to buy one for themselves and gift as gifts to their girlfriends, etc.. Just because of its $97 price point..

Now they have 42 more days to clarify everything or better yet.. improve their existing product to a better one.. given that they don't change the price point ;)

Once they change the price point then I'll have problems with Vak :p

That being said.. I commend everyone's due diligence to make this product better.. because everybody wins if the consumer gets the most bang for their buck :)

Always good to see new members of the Kickstarter community!

I don't disagree that refinement and improvement have a real value. I don't have a problem with any of that. Assuming that this is a rework my issue is the presentation used.

I'm a regular consumer who cares more about a team's capability to deliver more than some random people trying to discredit a product because they have too much time in the world to spend.

And personally I would rather save money by backing The Rock than be persuaded by doubters.

The product design and app features are very promising. I'll give Vak and his team the benefit of the doubt. I also think that this watch is a game changer.. very affordable and promising features.. If they don't deliver on their promises, kickstarter will always be there to protect its users.

Good luck with this project Vak and hopefully you can update us with further developments.
