Yoga Journal magazine's June issue features an excerpt of photos from the book!

By now many people may already know... The Beauty of the Sequence is currently featured in Yoga Journal magazine's June 2013 issue!  This is very exciting for both Alexia and I, and I'm thankful for the support and compliments we've been receiving.  The managing editor of Yoga Journal, Jennifer Rodrigue, really loves the book and after some back-and-forth and discussion with other editors of the magazine, they decided to reprint some of the photos from the book, as well as my introduction to the project.  Very exciting!

The back story: 

Back in November, I was contacted by a writer from Yoga Journal.  The big success of the Kickstarter campaign had caught their attention, and they interviewed me and mentioned the book and the Kickstarter success in an article about finding support within the yoga community for arts projects. 

To follow up the interview, I sent a couple copies of the book to Yoga Journal... and within a few weeks, I heard from Jennifer Rodrigue from the magazine.  And many months later, it's unbelievable to see the book featured in the current Yoga Journal.  It's not often that Yoga Journal does a feature on Ashtanga, and it's giving both Alexia and I great exposure.  I'm very grateful for the opportunity!  

None of this would have happened without the Kickstarter supporters, so again I want to thank everyone who donated to the campaign to bring The Beauty of the Sequence to life.  Namaste.

Alexia's birthday was this week (May 2), and she actually reminded me that it was on her birthday last year that we began the shooting for what became The Beauty of the Sequence.  

Now, a year later, it's still remarkable for me to look at the book and reflect upon everything that went into it.  Many hours of shooting and working with Alexia, many many hours editing and Photoshop-ing on my computer, and the amazing support of Kickstarter.  And I'm very grateful to Alexia, because it is her dedicated practice that shines in the photographs.  Happy Birthday to you!  

I want to say thank you again to everyone who backed this project.  Please continue to spread the word, as I still have many copies of the book to sell!  They can be purchased through my website www.kristiekahns.com for $50.  They will also soon be available at Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago, where Alexia teaches and where I practice.
