It's also a brilliant and easy way for you to support the arts, and get involved with talented individuals that you believe in.

But that's not all! Each pledge amount you give is associated with a reward! It's our way of saying thank you for your wonderful contribution. It's fun, very simple, and your support would really help us out!

THE FILM

"Jeune Fille" is inspired by French New-Wave films, and follows Sophia, a melancholy young lady working as a costume designer at a local theater. When unforeseen events transpire, Sophia begins to question the decisions of her past that have led her to this lonely place.

"What is French New-Wave?" you may ask. Well, "The New Wave" was a term used by critics to describe a film movement in France durning the late 50s and 60s. This was a groundbreaking time for cinema, pioneered by brave and innovative filmmakers such as François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. Many techniques developed during this time are still used in film today.

Although we were inspired by these masters of cinema, New Wave isn't the only inspiration for this passion project. "Jeune Fille" is also a very personal film. It's an expression of feelings and emotions that anyone can relate to. That's why we are now asking for your help. 

WHAT WILL YOUR PLEDGE GO TOWARD?

A picture is worth a thousand words, so it only makes since that in film, every image is an important part of the storytelling. It's all about the details. Costuming, make-up, set design, lighting--it all works together to make every shot memorable. Each character is defined by the way they dress, while the set design creates the illusion that every environment is lived in by those characters. It's these subtle details that make a film beautiful, that make it stand out. 

We have already funded some of this project on our own, but we need additional funds to create the subtle details that will make "Jeune Fille" look exceptional and festival-worthy. We can do this with your generous support.

WHAT IF WE RAISE MORE THAN WE ASK?

Once our film is finished, the next step is to submit it to film festivals. Being accepted in festivals is the best way for a short film like ours to be seen. It can also be a great source of prestige and exposure for all the talent involved.

If you don't already know, it can be quite expensive to submit to film festivals. When independent filmmakers like ourselves are spending every dime and dollar making the film, it can be difficult to get the finished product shown. So any extra money we receive will go directly to our film festival fund. It's as simple as that.

This project is being produced through Advent Creative, a brand-new production company in Denver, CO. We are a group of passionate filmmakers dedicated to creating professional, expressive, unique and innovative films and videos. 

In addition to our production team, we'll be bringing on an exceptional cast and crew. Every one of these talented individuals is dedicated to making this project the best that it can be.
