Joseph Kony Bracelets Included.

Update #33 · Jun 14, 2012 · 7 comments

Hey ClockTHREE Jr. fans! My name is Elizabeth Shaw, I'm the kid in the video. I'm 12 years old and I do the charity giving for our household. Why I mention this is because I recently saw a video that really moved me.                     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc

Joseph Kony is a terrible, horrible, and cruel person. He, routinely abducts children, often forcing them to murder their own parents and mutilate peoples' faces. He makes the boys join his Lord's Resistance Army and the girls become sex slaves. He is a disgrace to the human race and we must act now.

A few people won't let themselves believe that something so horrible could be happening, but unfortunately we have proof. They say he "isn't operating anymore" meaning he hasn't been kidnapping many children lately. However he still has his 30,000 strong army of abducted children, so he's still is a threat, he is still there. Kony said he would change his tactics now that people are after him. We can't do nothing, we must act.

We are acting by sending Kony bracelets with the clocks. We bought 60 of them and we hope you will either wear them or give it to someone else to spread the word. Each bracelet has a pin number so you can track the work you have done. Please help.

Yes, this was an engineering faux pas. It was meant as a quick visual to know it was powered even before a program was loaded. Inside the RIBBA you never see it. We usually do not populate it, but on the production run we left it in. You can disable it without harm to the rest of the clock.

      Justin,
So why is the flashing light there to begin with? To show it is working?

      Alan,
There an easy way to disable the flashing LED, but you have to open up the clock to do it.

      1. remove the faceplate with a 2mm alan wrench
      2. clip either lead of R26 to the right of the black speaker (see photo on step 11).
3, reassemble the clock as per the manual

Aha. I missed that completely. I am happy it did not damage the clock at least. .. but what about that blinking red light. Has anyone else noticed it?

It's a bit buried, but the wall plug problem was mentioned here: http://wyolum.com/… It's pretty easy any more to find "USB device charger" plugs at any local electronics or (probably) phone store for fairly cheap if you really want one.

      Justin,
I received the clock and I thought it was in perfect shape. When I plugged it in, there was a flash and then nothing. Turns out it is the USB to 120v plug that is broken. If I plug it into a computer it works fine. So I guess I need a nother plug. Also, what is that blinking red light at the top front I see? It is detracting from the aesthetic.

Justin, I just picked up my completed clock from the post office, thanks. The panels are both broken in the corners, it appears that better packing is needed in order to receive a clock that isn't broken.
      Thoughts?
