Open Hardware Summit

Update #40 · Oct 3, 2012 · comment

While you were patiently waiting for your Chronograms, WyoLum was goofing off in NYC at the open hardware summit.  If you are interested how WyoLum works, David Pincus presented "WyoLum Sweat Equity" to the star studded audience.  A poster by the same title provides a little more insight.

This was the first WyoLum meeting of its kind.  We hope many more will follow.  We got a lot accomplished and managed to have a ball the whole while.

Now I will begin the shipping the remaining Chonogram- 2s and 3s and 5.

Justin

Chronogram2 Assembly

Update #39 · Sep 3, 2012 · 3 comments

Chronogram2 assembly is coming along.  We have updated the design to take advantage of glass panel from the RIBBA frame itself.  This entailed using magnets instead of screws to avoid having to drill the glass faceplate.  If we can ship them to you in tact, the glass face will be a nice scratch resistant upgrade.

Here are some photos of the assembly.

Chronogram2 Faceplates ordered!

Update #38 · Aug 20, 2012 · 2 comments

Hi backers,

Here's the news from this week:

  • CG2 faceplate prototype completed (as shown in the photos below) with newly designed laser cut light baffles and laser etched painted glass
  • CG2 faceplates ordered for production
  • Remaining ClockTHREEjr faceplates picked up and are being assembled, packed for shipping

Finally, we will be selling ClockTHREEjr kits and completed clocks through our website http://shop.wyolum.com.  We've sold out of our initial Kickstarter run, but will be re-stocking once we complete all of our current custom orders.  If you would like to be notified when kits/clocks are back in stock please send us a note on info@wyolum.com.

Kind regards,

David : Australia

ClockTHREEjr update

Update #37 · Aug 12, 2012 · 2 comments

Hello backers! To date we have shipped all but 5 ClockTHREEjr's. If you are one of the few still waiting please accept our apologies - we have not forgotten you!

Production delays are due in part to the custom nature of each clock. Things would have been much faster if we made 100 identical units. Instead each clock is 100% awesome, unique and built to order. This results in a longer than normal set-up time on the laser.

There are 12 backers in the queue for Chronogram2's. We're going to try something a little different and attempt to laser etch directly onto glass! The CG2's fit perfectly in a 20x9" Ikea RIBBA frame. The prototype faceplates should be completed in the next week or two.

Finally, stay tuned for our 3 and 5 board clocks!

David : Australia
