THE RUNDOWN:

~ We’re an Alt-Country/Americana band from Dallas, TX called J. Charles & the Trainrobbers. We’re trying to raise $5000 to pay for the recording costs of our debut album, “Upon Leaving”, which will be released sometime around late June/early July of this year on Austin based independent record label, End Sounds. Just to be clear, we are absolutely funding the entire production of this album on our own… our great and faithful record label, End Sounds’ job is to manufacture, distribute, market, and publicize the album, but not to pay for it’s production.

~ By pledging on any level whatsoever to our Kickstarter campaign, you are helping make this album possible.  We are very grateful for anything you can give. ~ PLEASE NOTE: As with ALL Kickstarter campaigns, we only get the money from your contributions AFTER we have met our goal of $5000 (which is no more and no less than what we need to accomplish our mission).  This is to protect you, the generous doner and honorary Trainrobber… to make sure that YOU WILL NOT BE CONTRIBUTING TO AN UNDER-FUNDED PROJECT that never sees the light of day. It also makes it absolutely imperative that we reach our goal, so if this is a project you believe in please feel free to donate and TELL THE WORLD ABOUT IT!

THE BAND:

J. Charles & the Trainrobbers formed in an East Dallas warehouse in the blistering heat of the summer of 2010.  We have since had the privilege of sharing the stage with the likes of great bands such as Lucero, Deer Tick,
Dawes, Middle Brother, Shovels & Rope, Centro-Matic, Two Cow Garage, Lydia Loveless, and many many more.  The Trainrobbers are comprised of J. Charles Saenz (vocals, guitar, harp), Steve Visneau (drums), Danny Crelin
(pedal steel guitar), Justin Young (bass, vocals), Taylor Rea (vocals), Graham Lathrop (guitar), and Kevin Howard (keys).

THE ALBUM:

“Upon Leaving” tells the tale of J. Charles life during the time surrounding his move from Los Angeles, CA to Dallas, TX in the winter of 2010. This was a very hard time in his life which is very evident in the no holds bared
narrative of the events that transpired during that time period. None of this story could be told without the rhythm, melody, and harmony of the Trainrobbers. The intensity of the tale is found equally in the lyrics as in the passion of the playing of every single Trainrobber. We want to share this story with you… with ever drum hit, steel lick, strum of a guitar or bass, and everything else we’ve put into it fully intact and in a form you can listen to in your car, at your home, on your headphones, or anywhere else you could imagine. Please help us make this labor of love a reality.
